Covid-19 has an impact on many things, one of which is in the system of education. According to Pusdatin Kemdikbud (2020), UNESCO has recorded that there are approximately 1.5 billion school-age children affected by covid-19 who must carry out online learning during the pandemic. Online learning was chosen as an alternative in teaching and learning activities because this method would not cause a crowd situation, so it could help cut the spread of covid-19. Online learning is distance learning that is carried out using the internet network to support learning activities through various online media such as zoom, Ms. Teams, and WhatsApp groups. So, students must be supported by a stable network and adequate devices such as laptops, computers, and cell phones to run well. However, because the learning was carried out from various places in Indonesia, many difficulties were found that is the availability of internet services, availability of devices, and about the media such as zoom, Ms. Teams, and WhatsApp group. Back Overview Next

Online Learning Methods 3 12 Synchronous online Asynchronous online course : Hybrid course (blended courses : a method that a method there is no specified course) : In this learning lecturer and students can course time in this course. The model provides register in the classroom content of the conference will asynchronous and at the same time and can be provided with computerized synchronous online interact with each other materials and the project to be courses. immediately, In this type of evaluated must be completed learning, students can within the specified time. take courses Interaction can be ensured through Moodle (in UPH), WhatsApp groups, etc. Since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, Hybrid course is currently the most widely used method of learning, because this method is more flexible to use in online learning. But, With this learning model (hybrid courses), students must install all media/applications. From here, students will need a large storage device (laptop/phone), and we know that not everyone can afford a large storage device because of the high price. As a result, some students have difficulty accessing course material.

Connection Problems The second, the connection is an important thing to join the online class during a covid-19 pandemic, how connection work related with internet quota or WiFi presented of the amount of internet quota, signal strength, and high-speed internet. If the connection getting bad it makes it students harder to participate, they always will be reconnecting all the time in an online class, video quality gets worse, sound more unclear to hear, and the worse is they can't access media online at all. Some people may be difficult with these things, they can’t fully take control of how connection work because connection related with Base Transceiver Station that discharged in some area, the more outlying the area the more difficult the signal. And how the connection will work is also related to where students at, there are some places that hard to get a good connection, especially in the hinterland, even if they have all devices and media online they needed. That's why the connection is one important thing during an online class.

The Lack of Device ERROR The last difficulty concerns the constraints of the availability of mobile devices in the current online learning process. The necessary mobile devices, such as smartphones, laptops and computers. If mobile devices are not available, students will inevitably experience difficulties in following the learning process. These difficulties, for example in doing assignments such as making reports, students definitely need a laptop and if they do not have supporting devices it will make students become constrained. Not all students are people who are able to provide supporting tools in the learning process, for example due to economic constraints due to the pandemic, parents have lost their jobs. Another obstacle that usually occurs on mobile devices is that sometimes laptops used by students experience problems such as laptops that suddenly turn off or experience a blue screen. Most students only have mobile devices in the form of smartphones, even though in some cases the use of laptops or computers is very necessary.

From this topic, we can conclude that the current pandemic has Conclusion an impact on the learning process because it has to go through online learning. The difficulties are usually faced by students. First, online learning methods, to support online learning such as Zoom, Ms. Teams, Google Meet, WhatsApp group, Moodle learn UPH. So that students are required to have a large storage device in order to access online learning properly. Second, connection, if the connection is used well, it will make it easier for students to join all online classes and all types of video calls, video, and video voice will be clearer. However, if the connection is constrained, it will be difficult for students to participate. In the learning process students if need sufficient mobile device support to facilitate the learning process.
