Youth Committee Updates With the Holiday Season quickly approaching, the 2018 Year is coming to a close and we couldn’t be more proud of all the talented youth that have shared their love of their small equine with us at the shows. We would like to thank them all and congratulate the winners of our High Point Awards that were handed out at the 2018 ASPC/ASPR Congress and AMHR Nationals. In addition to succeeding in the show ring, many of them submitted award-winning essays, created beautiful artwork and exhibited exceptional showmanship to their fellow exhibitors at our shows! 2018 AMHR National Youth Awards AMHR Nationals Youth Sportsmanship Awards Nationals Overall Youth/Horse Combo High Point Award 2018 National Youth Sportsmanship 12 and Under: Tegan Showers 2018 National Champion Overall Youth/Horse Combo High Point, Under: 2018 National Youth Sportsmanship 13-17: Heaven Leigh Davidson with Kimberly Cotter Fairwinds Promise of Victory Nationals High Point Youth Award 2018 National Champion Overall Youth/Horse Combo High Point, Over: 2018 National Reserve Champion Jayden Shroyer with Youth High Point 7 and Under: Little Hoofbeets Clever Endeavor Madison Hammond Herron Tack Youth Award 2018 National Champion Wyatt Jones Youth High Point 7 and Under: Mathew Logan Wells Youth Teams Champion Team : Aqua Team 2018 National Reserve Champion Reserve Champion Team : Blue Team Youth High Point 8-1: Gracie Kachuriak Youth Gelding Essay Contest 2018 Champion Youth High Point 8-12: Brady Griggs Cheyenne Johnson Alvadar Future of the Industry Award 2018 National Reserve Champion Youth High Point 13-17: Brooke Wood Heaven Leigh Davidson 2018 Champion Youth High Point 13-17: Brooke Wood Nationals COOL Youth High Point Award 2018 National Reserve Champion COOL Youth High Point: Lauren Lanum 2018 National Champion COOL Youth High Point: Cameron Welma 46 The Journal • DOecteombbeer/rN2o0v1e8m/bJeanr u2a0r1y82019

This year was a year of change for the Youth Committee, with Merry Wicke handing the reins over to our new Co-Chairs. She has run an incredible program that benefits all the youth of the registry. We have learned many of the “ins” and “outs” of the program over the year and would like to invite any interested parties to join the Youth Committee in 2019! We have many jobs of all sizes, so please contact James Walsh, [email protected] or Marcy Parsons, [email protected], with any questions. Finally, please visit the youth page at www.shetlandminiature.com to download the Year End High Point and Memorial Award Tabulation sheets, many of them are due December 31st!
