FROM PRINCIPAL’S DESK It has been proved by many researchers around the world that parental and family involvement really give a posi ve outcome in their child's educa on. There are lot of ways in which parents can intervene and involve. “Indeed, parent involvement can be classified in at least three categories: school-based involvement, home- school conferencing, and home-based involvement” (Fantuzzo et al., 2000; Hill and Cra , 2003). In the first type, School-based involvement, the parents can volunteer in the classroom, act as a chaperone for class field trips, par cipate humanis c ac vi es in the school, or plan classroom ac vi es with teachers. Home-school conferencing is the second type of involvement. In this, parents and teachers communicate with each other with regard to the pupils rate of academic progress and other per nent ma ers. A ending Parent Teacher Mee ngs is very important for this purpose. It is usually a trend that the parents of the primary school a end PTMs and this diminishes as the children move to middle and secondary classes. It is equally important for those children also to have parental involvement and support. The third type of parental involvement is home-based involvement. Parents should ac vely encourage children to engage in learning in the home se ng. Providing appropriate learning opportuni es with necessary mo va on and monitoring for their children are very much needed. Parents should review a child's homework, and review if they have acquired age appropriate skills and arrange remedia ons with the help of the schools. Parents also need to buy some books for children and reading with the children is an important ac vity the parents must do. Bodhi is commi ed to engage families in our children's learning. We have an ac ve Family engagement cell in the primary phase and similar arrangements will be done for other phases soon. We are planning to set up a Paren ng Division under our Family Engagement Cell to offer “SCHOOL READINESS HELP” to those parents whose children are aged below 3 years and yet to a end school. This will, as expected, help parents to nurture their young ones to have the right development with correct interven ons, which will make them achieve the best as they progress through the formal schools and colleges.

Visit to Anubandh The home for elderly, Kodhi Khana 20th November 2019 Feelings of compassion, humanity and a sense of apprecia on awakens when we give to people. There is nothing greater to center our focus in this world than beginning to understand just how much we have to be grateful for. This comes from being in direct contact with the act of giving to people who are less fortunate than ourselves. Giving back to community or society is recognizing that you have been empowered to empower others, and it is a moral obliga on; we at Bodhi firmly believe this. STUDENT CORNER BROKEN HEART Today I laugh at a broken heart, Punctured……sha ered apart, Woven with the needles of me. Remembering those days of mine… His hair gelled like polished boots, His eyes a blackhole, alluring me in. I pa ed…. His slumped shoulders hung on his slouched back. “Hey!!! Could you please direct me to the class?” That's when it hit me hard. The jangling chords of my heart (dhadak, dhadak) Tuned with his melodious voice. Ouch!!!!!! I really thought he was the one. The sugarcoated lies, blinded my eyes. It was too much to take. I can't believe it was all fake. His fingers exploring folds of my skin, Leaving me to crave….to peel off my skin. The pain twitched my vein, Messing and rummaging my brain. Waves which nourished me once Became a raging tsunami. Arrows piercing my caged heart. Agony, frustra on swelled my eyes, Tears cascaded on my cheek. The familiar salinity was too bi er to taste. Yet again I laugh on a broken heart. Cherish Mundhra Grade 12
