National Institute of Public Cooperation and Child Development (NIPCCD) NIPCCD is an autonomous Institute under the aegis of the Ministry of Women and Child Development (MWCD), Government of India. An apex Institution working towards delivering quality systems in training, counselling services and research in the areas of topical concerns related to Women and Child Development, NIPCCD has its Headquarters in New Delhi and five Regional Centres across the country. The Institute has a vision to become a Centre of Excellence in the field of Women and Child Development by developing partnerships and linkages with National and International Agencies as well as making its training and research activities relevant to the needs of the varying client groups. Programme Thrust, Research and Initiatives Training is one of the core activities of the Institute. The Institute conducts nearly 400-500 physical and online training programmes annually apart from various research-based activities. As a nodal agency for training, MWCD has entrusted NIPCCD for training and capacity building of functionaries under Anganwadi Services Scheme of umbrella ICDS as well as Child Protection Services. Key themes of Training & Research at NIPPCD are as indicated in the following figure. Training & Research go hand-in-hand in the Institute’s pursuit of academic excellence. The Institute has been undertaking various research, documentation and evaluation studies at the behest of the Central Government, State Governments and as a response to felt needs. From the Academic Year 2005-06, the Institute is also running a one-year course, Advanced Diploma in Child Guidance and Counselling (ADCGC), which is affiliated to Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi and recently the Course has also been initiated at Regional Centre, Guwahati from October, 2021 with affiliation from Gauhati University. NIPCCDs Universe: Key Stakeholders NIPCCD has been playing a piovotal role towards enhancing capacity building and improved quality of work personnel and stakeholders at various levels which includes skill building as well as effective counselling techniques.



Field Demonstration & Counselling Services Documentation Centre for Women and Children (DCWC) NIPCCD has a Documentation Centre for Women and Children (DCWC), which is a Specialized Information Centre on children, women and other vulnerable groups. The information in DCWC is collected and disseminated both at national and international levels. Its computerized database contains indexed collection of documents both published and unpublished. Liaison with Research Institutions, Universities and Other Bodies NIPCCD is proud to have established working linkages with many national, regional and civil society organisations, universities, technical institutes and government departments. The Institute has also collaborated with other National Institutes of repute like the National Institute of Nutrition (NIN), National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS), National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), National Institute of Disaster Management, etc, on variegated projects.
