How different it is for those of us who gather to study theBible. Jesus meets with us whenever we get together. Nofees. No scheduling conflicts. No travel expenses. Wehave the Holy Spirit to guide our understanding. One ofthe last promises Jesus made to His disciples was thatGod would send the Holy Spirit to teach them. The Author of the Bible is not limited by time or space. He can meet with us at any time and any place. Sowhenever we have a question, we can ask with theassurance that He will answer—though perhaps notaccording to our timetable.God wants us to have the mind of the Author so thatthrough the teaching of the Spirit we will comprehend thegreatness of the gift He has freely given us. When youopen your Bible, ask the Author to open your mind andheart.Lord, I want to be taught and have more knowledge aboutYou. I want to know You in the depths of my heart.Bible ReadingJohn 14:1-31I Corinthians 2:1-16

JOHN CHAPTER 141 ¶ Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have toldyou. I go to prepare a place for you.3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you untomyself; that where I am, there ye may be also.4 ¶ And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.5 Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can weknow the way?6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh untothe Father, but by me.7 If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and fromhenceforth ye know him, and have seen him.8 Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us.9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou notknown me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thouthen, Shew us the Father?10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words thatI speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeththe works.11 Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me forthe very works' sake.12 ¶ Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I doshall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto myFather.13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may beglorified in the Son.14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.15 ¶ If ye love me, keep my commandments.16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that hemay abide with you for ever;17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth himnot, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be inyou.

18 ¶ I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.19 Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because Ilive, ye shall live also.20 At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me:and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and willmanifest myself to him.22 Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyselfunto us, and not unto the world?23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words:and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode withhim.24 He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear isnot mine, but the Father's which sent me.25 ¶ These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you.26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in myname, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, giveI unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.28 ¶ Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. Ifye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father isgreater than I.29 And now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass,ye might believe.30 Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, andhath nothing in me.31 But that the world may know that I love the Father; and as the Father gave mecommandment, even so I do. Arise, let us go hence.

I CORINTHIANS CHAPTER 21 ¶ And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or ofwisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God.2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and himcrucified.3 And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling.4 And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man'swisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:5 That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.6 ¶ Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom ofthis world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought:7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, whichGod ordained before the world unto our glory:8 Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they wouldnot have crucified the Lord of glory.9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered intothe heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth allthings, yea, the deep things of God.11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is inhim? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God;that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they arefoolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spirituallydiscerned.15 But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But wehave the mind of Christ.
