(1) Plate Positive/Negative plates are of lead alloy grids filled with plates (Active materials) which are mixed with lead powder , lead oxide and additive materials by diluted sulfuric acid . These plates are the center of battery energy , and the good or bad of plate control battery performance , Positive Negative thickness of plate effect performance of battery

SIAM GS BATTERY CO., LTD. - Grid Grid’s role is to maintain active material (Pam/Nam) and to electricity conduction between active material and outside. The constitution of grid are lead-antimony (Pb-Sb) and Lead calcium (Pb-Ca) . In conventional battery lead –antimony alloy is employed in grid plate , but it was found major cause of self – discharge and electrolyte drop . In combination with a separator, to increase pressure to a battery plate and to prevent falling down of active material from the positive plate whit weak bonding strength, Also it has the effect to prevent the separator deterioration by oxidization force of active material of a positive plate. In conventional battery , at the bottom of each cell contain saddle positive and negative plates placed separately on their own saddles, The saddle’s role is to support plate array and also prevent short circuit cause by accumulation of active material sediment left out from electrodes, A Cover is to cover an upper part of a battery container and cover are tightly connected either by heat welding or by gluing with adhesive agent.

A taper type terminal has two kinds of dimension according to battery configurations. Switch off lights or any electrical loads and then pull our car key. when replace the old battery with the new one make sure that when install new one positive and negative terminal will not be reversed. Please remember the positive terminal position. The polarity system are shown nearly the terminal ▪ Precaution to take when removing connecting wire Loosen the nut of connecting wire before removing then remove terminal cover which covering ( + ) terminal wire at the car side. Finally loosen and remove wire on (-) terminal side first to avoid ▪ Precaution to take when removing hold-down clamps When loosening the screw of hold-down clamps, remove metallic parts first to prevent short-circuit that may occur if the metal come to contact with terminals

Before install a new battery ▪ Battery check-ups Use the fully charged battery to replace the old one .Check the electrolyte level whether it reach the standard ▪ Terminal clamps if the terminals are over tightened. If may have battery case twisted. In the opposite way if they are too loose the vibration during driving may harm battery Install Positive ▪ Attach terminal first Attach the positive cable to the positive at the side of car , fasten nut tightly. Close positive wire cover , Next attached the negative wire

Proper usage of battery Battery Check-points/Maintenance ▪ Electrolyte level check - If the battery is begin used or charged when electrolyte is below the lower limit (lower level), indicated at the battery side, it may lead to explosion. - Continuously using battery which the electrolyte is below Lower Level will accelerate deterioration inside which shortens battery life and may cause explosion ▪ Wipe battery surface with soaked clothes, Always keep battery dry - Do not wipe with dry clothes. The static electricity may cause explosion ▪ Closely check wire - if the damage and corrosion is extensive, replacement is required

Proper usage of battery Battery Check-points/Maintenance ▪ Gently use terminal clamps - Attachment and detachment of terminal clamps make give damage e.g. sinking of winkling to the terminal and cover , Apply a small amount of grease on the surface after fastening ▪ Take good care of terminal and metallic parts - Eliminate rust on exposed parts of battery terminal and inner part of metallic parts with wire Brush or fine texture sand paper.
