For ironmongery, this includes products covered by BS EN standards that have been harmonised under the Construction Products Regulation (CPR). As of July 2013, a product must be CE marked if it is to be fitted to a fire or escape route door and is covered by a harmonised BS EN standard. These devices must allow for a safe and effective escape without prior working knowledge of the device and are fitted to locked doors on escape routes where a panic situation is foreseeable. The standard also requires each product to have the following marks visible after fitting: the manufacturer’s name or trademark, the identification number of the certification body and the CE mark. The product must also have the following marks visible prior to fitting: the classification code for the product, the number and year of the European standard and the month and year of assembly. BS 476-22: 1987 - Fire tests on building materials and structures - Covered by this standard are products that have been subjected to fire conditions (in accordance with BS EN 1634-1: 2014) while part of a door assembly. They are rated by how many minutes the door assembly remained intact. A product that meets this standard will be 30 minute rated or 30 and 60 minute rated. Certifire Certifire is a product conformity scheme performed by Warrington Certification Ltd (WCL) to fire protection products that assures performance, quality, reliability and traceability. This third-party certificate is internationally respected and recognised by regulatory bodies worldwide, giving the customer complete confidence in a product’s stated performance. For a product to be awarded the Certifire certificate, it must undergo annual performance testing that is more stringent than those required for the CE certificate. The production factory must also undergo annual audits that are carried out by the WCL. When this happens, the lacquer should be completely removed using Nitromores and then re-lacquered or use Brasso or a similar product to restore the finish. • Stainless Steel – SSS | PSS Wipe down frequently with warm soapy water, then dry thoroughly with a cloth (check the cloth is free of foreign material that may damage the finish). • Anodised Aluminium – SAA | PAA Wipe down frequently with warm soapy water, then dry thoroughly with a cloth (check the cloth is free of foreign material that may damage the finish). • Electro Plated Finishes – PEB Wipe down frequently with warm soapy water, then dry with a cloth (check the cloth is free of foreign material that may damage the finish). • Physical Vapour Deposit – PVD Brass Wipe down with a damp cloth and dry thoroughly.

Fixings Always use the fixings supplied with the product. Using substitute fixings could be detrimental to products performance.
