Tuition Tuition is a free ride for all four years in West Point. You don’t have to pay anything to get into West Point; although, you do have to reach certain requirements to be offered a spot in Westpoint.

Admission Requirements to Qualify for West Point ● Grade Point Average: 3.73 ● SAT/ACT Score: 1180-1400/23-28 ● Physical test: 2 mile run, situps, pushups, basketball throw and pullups. ● Letter of recommendation: required letter by one of your US state representatives. ● Essay: personally typed essay regarding why you want to go to West point and why you deserve the spot versus the other candidates. ● Medical Test: examination to make sure you are in a fit shape to go to West Point. ● Interview: Youll have time to sit down with a comander in West Point and vocaly state your opinion on why you should be admitted into West Point.

Admission Rate into West Point About 10,778 students apply to west point each year but out of those 10,778 people only 14 percent (this percentage may vary) get admitted.

Tuition The West Point Army Military Academy costs nothing to get in. The tuition is zero dollars. However, the way you pay back the army for your four years of education, you are required to serve at least five years in that branch in your personally chosen job. West point also pays you $10,000 so you don’t have to have a job while being a student.

Academics To get into West Point you obviously have to be very intelligent. West Point cares most about preparing you for the military and keeping you grades superior. Within West Point there are many different majors to choose from, as you can’t double major you have to choose one that will correspond with what you want to do after your military experience. There are 40 academic majors for you to choose from after your sophomore year. Before you choose your major the first two years are really just picking you down, testing if you really are prepared for the toughness of the school and the military after. The first two years you taje your basic core classes ( English, Math, History, and science), you also have the option oof persueing the honors route.

What it Means to Me I’ve had a dream of going to West Point for a very long time, since i knew my dad went into the army and hearing his stories just drove me to wanting to serve my country like he did. I didn’t know about West Point until a couple of years ago, my great uncle went to West Point, graduated, then served 36 years in the Army to retire as a three star general. My mom, dad, both uncles, grandpa and many more generations all served in the military. I look up to my family and especially my dad, they have all served our country and I can’t wait to do it just like they did.
