What is this handbook about? This year, Ontario government released a 5-year Climate Change Action Plan (CCAP) to reduce GHG emissions reductions inOntario. A variety of energy conservation programs and projects were proposed for sectors, including transportation, residential and these projects or programs will be developedand implemented over the next five years.According to CCAP, investments on green projects will befrom the cap and trade program revenue, which wasexpected to be $1.8 to 1.9B annually. The pie chart(Figure 1) illustrates the total proposed budget allocationfor each of the eight action areas. In this handbook, Energy Exchange has gathered informationon Ontario’s existing energy conservation programs andlinked them to the Action Areas listed in CCAP. In thishandbook, you will see both existing and proposed programsand projects at the municipal, provincial and federal levels. When reading through the handbook, you can click on theprograms that look interesting to you to learn more. Youmay find quite a few programs that are applicable to you. By participating in these programs, you will be able to savemoney, save energy, and contribute to “the fight against climate change”!
