REDUCED RATES GENERAL INFO The City of Lafayette provides a program for eligible participants that reduces fees for youth by 50% for activities sponsored by the Recreation Department* and reduces the daily admission fee by 50%. The reduced rate program is available to all Lafayette Residents meeting one of the following guidelines: • TEMPORARY ASSISTANCE FOR NEEDY FAMILIES (TANF) • SUPPLEMENTAL SOCIAL SECURITY INCOME (S.S. I. OR S.S.D.) • W.I.C. REGISTRATION INFORMATION ► The Recreation Department reserves the right to cancel or combine any class due to insufficient participants. If a class is canceled, you will be notified before the first class and receive a full refund, credit, or class transfer. ► Late fees: Any late youth sports registration will be assessed a $10 late fee after the registration deadline. Payment will be taken (check or credit card) for youth league waitlist registrations but will not be processed until the child is placed on a team. CANCELLATION/REFUND POLICY We strive for positive experiences and excellence in everything we do. If you cancel from a class, you must request the cancellation seven days before the start of the class to receive a 75% refund. Day Camp deposits and Preschool/B.A.S.E. registration fees are nonrefundable. ► Class transfers are subject to a $5 transfer fee. ► All cancellations initiated by the participant must be approved by the program supervisor and will be assessed a 25% cancellation fee. ► NO REFUNDS OR CREDITS will be given for cancellations initiated by or for the participant made less than seven days before the start of class. Refunds will be issued in the form of a check or credit card (depending on the payment method ) or a household credit balance. The academy will explain and demonstrate many of the department's policies, divisions, and functions and provide an increased understanding of the tasks police officers face in their daily work. LAFAYETTE POLICE SANTA COP PROGRAM TOY COLLECTION DRIVE The Santa Cop Program coordinates gift donations for our community's families who are in need. Help support this program, which relies mainly on donations, by donating new toys (appropriate for 2-15 years of age) or making a monetary contribution. Donations are accepted year-round at the police department, and additional toy collection sites can be found around town in November. The Police Department, municipal court, and City Hall accept monetary donations (cash, check, or credit card). You can find more information at lafayetteco.gov/Police. DECEMBER FLASHLIGHT CANDY CANE HUNT Dec. 15 | Lafayette Recreation Center | 6-7:30pm Get ready for the ultimate candy cane adventure at the 2023 Flashlight Candy Cane Hunt! Explore the City Park fields outside the Bob L. Burger Recreation Center with your trusty flashlight and discover hidden candy canes. But that's not all! Look for elusive elves and claim your prize by bringing them to the check-in table. After the hunt, warm up inside the recreation center with hot chocolate and cookies, where Santa will be available for pictures. Wrap up your evening by joining us poolside for an ornament race in the lazy river. Will your ornament win? YOUTH SWIM LESSONS GROUP SWIM LESSONS Our group swim lessons, taught by Red Cross Certified instructors, have low student-to-teacher ratios. With sessions going all year round, now is the best time to take the plunge into group lessons! SWIM LESSON OPTIONS LEVELS 1-6 (AGES 6 PLUS) AQUATICS AQUA BABY (AGES 6-24 MONTHS) Level 1 Goals: To be in a class setting and go Aqua Baby classes help children develop a high comfort underwater independently.
