He further detailed the coordinating attributes pertaining to each of theadministrative processes between the Youth Exchange Society and the Youth ExchangeCommittee within D2451. P Qatara was en-group with ten Brazilian exchange students, hostedby Ain Shams University's Faculty of Medicine. The visit to the psychiatric ward .٢٠١٨ ‫ من يناير‬٢٧ ‫صباح هذا اليوم السبت الموافق‬took place on on Saturday 27th January 2018.RC of El Tahrir works regularly with the #PeopleOfAction 9hospital. On Saturday January 20th P Nagwaand PP Bassem conducted a surprise visit tothe hospital, to run a check on one of ourprevious projects, as part of our \"report backto the floor\" initiative, at the request of theSustainable Development Committeemembers. As PP Bassem Gabber, walkedthrough some of the wards, he noted thatthey were freezing cold but that the patientshad abismol covers lining their beds. Thedirector of the hospital explained that theyhad been trying to procure blankets for overa month but had only managed to secureabout 50% of the hospital's actual needs.This prompted an inventory list for thedesperately required blankets and waspresented to the floor during a regularbusiness meeting the following Monday ofthe same week; by last Monday we hadcompleted the project. Within 48 hours wehad made a deal with a manufacturer inwhich he would sell us the blankets thatnormally sell for EGP 130 wholesale for EGP70, the balance of which would be his owncontribution. Tahririans collected the budgetrequired from friends, family members andothers who donated not money, butadditional units towards the project. In atotal of 8 days, the project was delivered,right on the nose of one of this winter'sworst waves of cold. So under the leadershipof P Nagwa Zaki, RC of El Tahrir members,delivered 800 blankets for distributionamongst the patients of Abasya PsychiatricHospital, on Saturday January 27th, 2018.DGC Nabil Hamad, attended the event,alongside members of RC of El Tahrir. 4/1/2018

For some, it’sthe personal and businessnetworking that motivates them.For others, it’s fellowship and asense of belonging to a world-wide organization of people. Stillfor others, it’s a status symbol.Whatever the reasons, everyonehas one. Sadly, some of thereasons don’t fit Rotary’s primarypurpose; a network of problemsolvers living the mantra ofService Above Self.Networking for professional andpersonal development is laudable,so is the quest for socialrecognition through associationwith entities that have an impact,and so is an opportunity to travelaround the world to Rotaryevents. This must change. Privileges come with responsibilitieswhether voluntary or compulsory. Whoever enjoys the privileges has an inherent moral obligation to live the responsibilities as well.It is unbelievable that many clubs struggle to have members offering themselves up for leadership, club service, community service, and evenparticipation in club meetings, projects, and other events. Being Proudly Rotarian is not just an empty accolade and status symbol. Rather, it is a callfor service and commitment to hold true the driving motive of Rotary. It’s a call to give of yourself to the world community in giving to support andstrengthen the Rotary Foundation’s humanitarian efforts around the globe. It’s a call to build strong clubs and use our skills, professionalknowledge, and technical know how to bring happiness to people in our communities.If this is not your core understanding of what it means to be Proudly Rotarian, I guess you are simply and unfortunately a mere member of Rotary.I am a Rotarian and Proudly so.
