Come make your first decorated cake!!! Students will learn how to mix their icing, fill their pastry bags and learn and practice how to use decorating tips for different designs. Students will learn how to prepare and design a small cake for decorating and leave class on their last day with a beautifully decorated cake of their own. In this digital world we all take many pictures, this workshop will teach how to take better pictures and think like a photographer. Students should bring their own DSLR or other manual camera. Together, we'll read their picture books and a biography written about them. We will discuss what elements make the books remarkable works for children. Then the class will create art in the artist's medium, inspired by the illustrator's style or subject matter.
