Inclusion InclusionA strong collaboration between our ResponsibleBusiness and graduate recruitment teams began in2013. So, most volunteering activities in our Londonoffice now focus on achieving a diverse and inclusiveworkforce. The relationship has resulted in a holisticapproach to both the attraction and recruitment ofdiverse candidates. A key part of this includes theimplementation of a watch list within our graduaterecruitment applicant tracking system, designed tomonitor candidates we meet at our inclusion events. As a firm we also have a strong internal women’s initiative, known as WINRS. We are proud to be a member of the 30% Club – upon joining, we were one of the few businesses that had already reached the club’s target for 2015: to have 30% female board membershipReed Smith Responsible Business 2014/15

Inclusion (continued) External partnerships We have been working hard to develop external inclusion partnerships that assist in our goal of diversifying our trainee solicitor population. Our GoThinkBig partnership started in 2013 and has formed an increasingly important part of our diversity and inclusion programme by directing young people from our other inclusion partnerships to our Insight into Law events, which offer information and advice about City law. Eight more events will follow this year. Aspiring Solicitors is an organisation focused on increasing diversity in the legal profession. We partnered with them and Barclays in 2014 to host a large student event. We intend to continue our support for the organisation and hope to host two more student events at our office this year.
