Hello, I'm Maya from Istanbul. I am 9 years old. I'm n th rd grade. 6

Today s a very good day for me. I came 1st n the chess tournament held n our school. Do you know what's even better? I was nv ted to the cultural tour because I was the 1st. My journey beg ns tomorrow. I am very exc ted! 7

Maya In Istanbul My f rst stop s Istabul. I ate f sh and bread by watch ng Topkap Palace n Em nönü. I bought Turk sh Del ght from the Mısır Bazaar. 8

I went up to P erre Lot H ll. I drank my Turk sh coffee and ateTurk sh del ghts there. Later, I crossed the Bosphorus Br dge and arr ved at Haydarpaşa Tra n Stat on. At three o'clock I set off for Esk şeh r by tra n. 9

Maya In Esk şeh r I had a n ce tr p by h gh speed tra n. I watched green forests, long valleys and the natural beauty of Sapanca Lake, then I arr ved to Esk şeh r at 17.50. I spent the n ght at my fr end’s house wh ch s a one of the h stor cal Odunpazarı Houses as a 10 guest because I was very exhausted.

The next day, I took a dream gondola r de on the Porsuk R ver. I felt l ke I was n Ven ce. I went to the h stor cal Odunpazarı Houses, Wax Sculptures Museum , Glass Arts Museum, and Odunpazarı Modern Museum so I went on an enjoy ng culture and art tour. I bought some souven rs wh ch were made of meerschaum from Atlıhan. 11

At lunch, I ate ‘ç börek’, Balaban meatballs and met halva. I drank boza from the famous boza seller of Esk şeh r. I’ve had a joyful t me wh le v s t ng Dream Castle, P rate Sh p , Sc ence and Exper ment Center n Sazova Park. 12

Maya In Antalya I came to Antalya when I was pass ng m dn ght. I spent the n ght at the hotel. In the morn ng, I went to Konyaaltı Beach, wh ch s one of the places I was most cur ous about n Antalya. It was such a beaut ful and so b g beach that I could not help myself from the beauty of the sea. I thought that the b ggest reason why local and fore gn tour sts prefer Antalya s ts beaches along the coast. 13

After v s t ng the Konyaaltı coast, I came to Kale ç , one of the most mportant h stor cal bu ld ngs of Antalya. It was mposs ble not to adm re the houses smell ng h story n the narrow streets. Wh le v s t ng Kale ç , I not ced that I was hungry and I went to a restaurant and ate Antalya's famous sh sh blarney. It was so del c ous. Then I ate pumpk n dessert un que to Antalya for dessert. 14

After I left I came to Düden waterfall. I was fasc nated by the un que v ew of the waterfall. The next day, I v s ted the anc ent c ty of Aspendos and learned that theater and concerts were held n th s anc ent c ty n anc ent t mes. 15

Then I v s ted the Antalya museum, went to the zoo and v s ted the g ant aquar um. In the even ng, I made my way to the a rport to set off for Adana. I set off for Adana w th the 19:45 plane. 16

Maya In Adana My fr ends welcomed me to Adana, a lovely c ty !! I slept at our fr end’s Den z the f rst n ght and we all met next morn ng! I woke up early n the morn ng and went to Tar h Kazancılar Bazaar to eat l ver for breakfast. 17

The v ew of the H lton Hotel and Sabancılar Mosque was wonderful as I passed the famous Stone Br dge after eat ng my lunch. After see ng the Island of Love on the route called Dam Road, I ate the b c b c at the rest ng places by the dam. On the way back to Ceyhan, I went to Yılan Kale and the v ew of Ceyhan R ver and the c ty was wonderful. By the way, travel ng made me hungry, I tasted the famous Adana Kebab and turn p, t was del c ous !! 18

Then I set out for my fr ends' town; I saw Kurtkulağı Caravansera and ts Mosque, I was really mpressed. They gave me yeast and needlework (wr t ng), I entered the mosque w th t. After v s t ng the coasts of İnc rl and Yumurtalık, wh ch are close to here, I departed for Aksaray by the 19.00 bus n the even ng. 19

Maya In Aksaray In the even ng, travel-worn as I was, my fr ends offered me d nner n a place wh ch s competent, w th \"okra soup\" and then \"Aksaray Tava\". Accord ng to the r trad t ons they do not allow the r guests to stay elsewhere, so they wanted to host me n the r house accord ng to the r trad t ons. 20

When I came to the r house, the r mother gave me a n ce tea for my t redness. Wh le I was dr nk ng tea, the r mother was mak ng hand-made \"rag dolls.\" The rag dolls attracted my attent on. In the past, mothers used to fulf ll the r long ng for ch ld w th these rag dolls. My fr end’s mother gave me one as a memory, and I was del ghted. Then they made my bed for I was travel-worn. They left me to rest and to see them n the morn ng. 21

In the morn ng, they took me from the house where I was. We ate Ortaköy Kömbes and Squeezed w th tea at breakfast. They took me to the Ihlara Valley, down 1000 steps. The ns de of the valley was l ke a l v ng space, the r ver flow ng smoothly, the beaut ful cl ffs of the Cappadoc a reg on f lled w th v llages, churches 18 km long. I was enchanted w th beauty. 22

Then we saw the huge bu ld ngs used by trade caravans before, and I was told about the Sultanhanı Caravansera . The stone work of these caravansera s, wh ch s sheltered l ke a castle, wh ch houses a c ty, and has free accommodat on to st mulate the trade, deeply affected me. 23

In the afternoon, we came back to the center and we all went to the tomb of Somuncu Baba, wh ch s very popular n Anatol a, and after v s t ng Somuncu Baba, the sp r tual leader of Aksaray, we encountered a wedd ng on the street. In sett ng up the slot to g ve h m support, we nserted gold and we watched trad t ons relevant to money. 24

I was very happy. When the drum was played, accompan ed by flutes, t was really fun. In the Flam ngo parad se salt lake, Turkey's second n s ze lake, I encountered endless wh teness, almost all by fold ng h s pants. I rel eved my stress by tour ng the lake. Gaz antep was my next stat on. So I was taken to the bus stat on, wh ch ended the day, w th a 00.00 car. 25

Maya In Gaz antep “Welcome to our c ty, Gaz antep, Maya !! Tomorrow s the b g day. We w ll v s t Gaz antep and eat ts famous food. You should rest now so that you wake up v gorous tomorrow and we w ll v s t our c ty n 26 the morn ng w th all our fr ends.”

We got up early n the morn ng. Our f rst job was to start the day by eat ng katmer, one of the famous foods of Gaz antep. F rst of all, we had a break for lunch after v s t ng beaut ful places such as Gaz antep Castle, h stor cal Antep houses, Gaz antep c ty museum, Game and Toy museum, Şah nbey war museum, Yesemek open a r museum. For lunch, we ate the famous Gaz antep d sh Al Naz k and ts famous dessert, P stach o Cream, Sob yet. 27

After lunch and after v s t ng Bakırcılar Bazaar, Rumkale, Z nc rl Bedesten, Gaz antep Botan cal Garden, Planet House and Sc ence Center, we stopped for a l ttle rest. Later, we ate Lahmacun and the famous Antep Baklava n a n ce place where we went for d nner. I th nk we had a n ce day. I real zed that the c ty of Gaz antep s an amaz ng c ty that should be v s ted. After v s t ng a fr end's v llage, I set out for my next stop, Mard n, at 19:00 n the even ng. 28

Maya In Mard n After a pleasant journey, I f nally reached Mard n. I was fasc nated when I saw the old streets of Mard n that smelled of h story. The rhythm of the street nstruments accompan ed the exc tement n me. I sat n a h stor c place to plan my tr p. I enjoyed my breakfast w th a v ew of the Ulu Mosque and Mesopotam a. 29

I took my backpack and started walk ng the streets of Mard n. I tasted Mard n coffees, almond cand es, marshmallows,lebleb ler and pest lence. I bought Syr ac hand craft f l gree jewelry, copper and s lver g fts.I w tnessed h story by v s t ng Kasım ye and Z nc r ye madrasas. I went to Mard n Castle and watched Mesopotam a. 30

I was so surpr sed when I walked around and saw people from d fferent languages and rel g ons l v ng n harmony. H stor cal houses, nns, madrasas, monaster es, mosques and churches were symbols of th s d vers ty. It s t me for me to leave Mard n, where I was fasc nated. Every stone of t bears w tness to h story. 31

I got on the bus and headed for G resun. I watched the s ghts as I passed through the un que c t es of Anatol a. 32

My bus reached G resun towards the even ng. I started to love th s c ty when I f rst saw t w th ts sun sett ng over the sea. After spend ng the n ght n one of the h stor cal Zeyt nl k Mans ons, I drank the famous T rebolu 42 tea grown n the reg on for breakfast and started off by eat ng a lot of butter's mıhlama. 33

F rst, I went to G resun Island by tour boat and took a watched at G resun from the sland. A lush G resun n the under of the deep blue sea and the glassy sky where the mounta ns beh nd t meet. When I came back to the shore, I f rst went to G resun Castle and greeted the c ty on the 34 slopes of the mounta n.

After the museum, I v s ted Seyy d Vakkas Tomb and Hacı 35 M ktat Mosque, wh ch are among the mportant h stor cal bu ld ngs of the c ty, and set off for the plateaus. Blue Lake and Kuzalan Nature Park, famous for ts turquo se color, on the h ghland road, I had a rest and rested here.

When I cont nued on the road and reached the G resun mounta ns, I came across many plateaus. Kümbet Plateau, Kulakkaya Plateau, Bektaş Plateau, Gölyanı Plateau, S sdağı Plateau and Karagöl Mounta ns Plateau. There s a plateau on almost every h ll, a long of grass l ke a carpet on every plateau, fragrant p ne tree on the s des and endless blue sky on the h ll. At lunch, I ate nettle meal and cornbread n the plateau and cont nued on my way. 36

When I arr ved n Şeb nkarah sar d str ct, I v s ted the V rg n Mary Monastery from the med eval ages. When I v s ted the castles n var ous d str cts of G resun, I saw Şeb nkarah sar Castle n Şeb nkarah sar, Sa nt-Jean (T rebolu Castle) and Bedrama Castle n T rebolu, Andoz Castle n Esp ye, Dandu Castle n Doğankent. Here I came across women dressed n Black Sea lo ncloths and w th a sash around the r wa st. 'Haçen sen k ms n da?' They sa d. When I called my name, they nv ted me and we went to a v llage wedd ng together. 37

The people at the wedd ng were play ng the horon by play ng the 'kemençe' and shout ng 'Ula, ula ula'. I also accompan ed the r horon. My hosp table aunts d d not leave me w thout a meal. I ate at a table where I learned that local d shes such as kale soup, kale soup, pez k, p ckled beans, s ron, Yağlaş, ezeltere, and gald r k. When we sa d goodbye to return, they gave them a g ft from G resun Hazelnut, wh ch s dent f ed w th the reg on, and 38 f lled t n my pockets.

I came to the bus stat on where I came last n ght and ate nuts. In order to cont nue my tour n Armen a, I ate fresh anchov es n the reg on wh le wa t ng for the bus that w ll take me to the border gate - v a Georg a. It was an oxygen- r ch day for me. Here I go, goodbye green GİRESUN! 39

Maya In Darpas I arr ved n Yerevan after a long bus tr p n the morn ng. I slept a lot on the bus so I could cont nue my tr p. I had my f rst bus ness breakfast. W th lavash cooked n ton r ovens. After breakfast, I walked the cobbled streets towards the Hovhannes Tumanyan Museum. From there I went to the Mart ros Sar an Museum. 40

I d d not forget to v s t the Yervand Kochar Museum. I also v s ted the Nat onal Gallery of Armen a and the Blue Mosque. I was pretty hungry. I went to one of the famous restaurants, Dolmama. I tr ed the r Khoravat and browns del c ous food. I stopped by the Mergeryan Carpet Factory to buy souven rs from there. I bought rugs for g fts. 41

I. I d d not forget to buy the r spec al jams and p ckles. I set out for the People's Square, watched the stone pool n the m ddle; I also watched a wonderful founta n show w th mus c. I d d not neglect to stop by the Cafesj an Center; I v s ted 2 garden galler es and 5 exh b t on areas n the area. I ate r ce prepared w th f sh and butter for d nner. I had a very good t me and I loved 42 t here too. It's t me to head to Roman a, goodbye...

Maya In Borca Maya, we nv te you to us and… we propose to you! It's spr ng n Roman a, t's spr ng here too… Apr l, qu te capr c ous, f nally br ngs out that madness of nature: an explos on of buds, flower scent, work no se, ch ld sh ag tat on… Then calm ng them all through the natural and Chr st an hol days, g v ng man the well-deserved rest. 43

Our souls are young aga n, full of the l fe that s reborn from every gra n of earth. Where does so much happ ness, so much joy and self-sat sfact on f t? We are happy to answer you: n our hosp table souls for all who are susp c ous and want to see, want to l sten, let them 44 walk… and we challenge them and look forward to them!

II had a n ce bus r de. We followed green forests, long valleys and the natural beauty of the land of Neamț County n Roman a, we arr ved n Borca at 08.00. We started from Borca to the follow ng tour st object ves: B caz - B caz Dam, Pangarat Lake, P atra Neamt C ty-where I walked by gondola and adm red the beaut ful 45 c ty surrounded by mounta ns and forests,

Agap a Monastery, Neamţ Fortress, Cuejdel Lake, Monastery Neamţ, Ceahlău Mass f, Durău Resort and Monastery, Izvorul Muntelu Lake, Șugăulu -Munt celu Gorges, Șugăulu -Munt celu Gorges Nature Reserve, B caz Gorges, Lacu Rosu, v lage Borca. 46

Maya In Vel ngrad I arr ved n Sof a, the cap tal c ty of Bulgar a, at 17.00 o’clock. As per old Bulgar an trad t on, I was greeted w th home-made bread and honey. Next, I went to Plovd v by bus. Along the way, I saw the beaut ful mounta ns R la and P r n. Wh le I was n Plovd v, I v s ted the anc ent Roman amph theater and the “Arm ra” v lla. I had the chance to adm re the beaut ful 18th century arch tecture n the Old Town. 47

II was very mpressed by the trad t onal Bulgar an cloth ng w th a hand-made “shev ts ”. I stayed at Rev val old house . I tr ed a var ety of tasty typ cal Bulgar an d shes, such as: ban tsa, sarm and tarator. On the next day I traveled to Vel ngrad- the SPA cap tal of the Balkans. Vel ngrad s a tour st dest nat on. 48

Here are a lot of hotels where people come to relax . The town s surrounded by p ne forests. There are a total of 90 warm m neral spr ngs n the town and the surround ng areas. I v s ted the amaz ng “Lepen tsa” cave and sa led w th a boat n the “Kleptuza” lake. Exhausted but very happy, I fell asleep n my hotel room. Thank you, Bulgar a! Tomorrow at 9.00 o’clock I w ll be on my way to Greece. 49
