Obituary Late Mr. Mahender Singh (The founder and chairman) “May your soul rest in eternal peace and you live in the hearts of your loved ones forever and more!” Late Mr. Mahender Singh, the Founder & Chairman of St. James' School departed from the world on 26th January 2020. He was a simple and humble soul. He established two schools and under his leadership and hardwork St. James' School grew from strength to strength. He was a symbol of courage and dedication. He was a strict disciplinarado and inculcated a sense of discipline in the minds of his staff and students. He has left be- hind him a full family and a rich legacy of good deeds and kind words. The best way to pay him tribute is to carry on his legacy. We believe you are there watching over us and always keeping us in your providential care. St James' School takes extra efforts to select its cabinet and only the chosen ones make it by going through a vigorous se- lection process. The selection process in- cludes nomination, interview, speech, canvassing and then digital polling. The election for ‘Students' Council 2019-20’ of St James' School took place on 20th July 2019. The entire process was executed in an utmost careful and smooth way to ensure the genuine selections. The complete direction for holding the elections was given by honourable Principal Dr. Naveen Singh. 5

THE CORONET DAY Investiture Ceremony The establishment of a Students' Council gives students an opportunity to acquire the sort of communication, planning and organisational skills which will be beneficial to them in their future. The pleasant morning of coronet day was graced by the presence of (Manager Mr. Mahender Singh, Principal Dr. Naveen Singh, Chief guest Mr. Pius Ferdinands and Mrs. Arpana Singh). The newly appointed council members were administered the Oath by the Principal sir. The Head Boy and Head Girl promised to shoulder the responsibility firmly and efficiently. We are sure that our student's council members will help us and contribute to the development of our school. Congratulations to all the Student's Council members !!! TALk-ROCkS Inter House Debate An Inter-House Debate Competition was held on 03rd Aug, 2019. Speakers from each house debated excellently in favour and against the motion. The contestants were judged on content, ex- pression, fluency and time limit. It was an exciting experience for both the participants as well as the audience. Principal, Dr Naveen Singh congratulated the participants and motivated the chil- dren to participate in all the extra- curricular activities. STUDENTS' ExcUrSiON : A GrEAT FUN It was 21st September 2019 dawn, when the students got up and rushed to school at 6:00 am. The journey began at 7:00 am, at the first stoppage, Patanjali Vidhyapeeth. All in all, the Patanjali Vidhyapeeth is a vision of the eyes that one never forgets to behold. It was an enthralling and enchanting moments for the students of the School as they went for a sensational outing to Crystal World, with the world of virtuals and illusions, at 5D show followed by splash and swash in the water park and enraptured rides at amusement park. Sankalp Our school organized a Excellence Award Ceremony \"Sankalp\" on 5th October 2019. The Chief Guest of the occasion was Dr. Shri Akhilesh Narain Singh, S.P. City, Meerut and Dr. S.K. Agarwal Dean Student Welfare, D.N. Degree College, Meerut. The programme began with a prayer song. It was indeed a befitting welcome. Vibrant music, dance, breathtaking colours and highly coordinated moves promptly set the tone and mood of the atmosphere. The rankholders from class Pre-Nur to X were felicitated with certificates and memento. Their smiling faces were welcomed by rapturous applause from the audience. 11

Philanthropy Christmas Carnival Drive “Joy to the world, let the bells of festivity and happiness ring in the air” (Joy of Sharing) The school premises echoed with Christmas carols as a part of Christmas celebration. The students of St.James cele- Christmas Pageant brated Christmas at Leprosy Home and distributed gifts to them as a part of sharing and caring. YMCA Gospel Singing Competition The excellent students of St.James' School representing the school choir in a 30th YMCA'S Gospel Music Competition 2019 at St. Thomas' English Medium School, Meerut and brought laurel to the school by winning first prize. 12

REPUBLIC DAY “A nation culture resides in the hearts and souls of its people”. Our school celebrated the 71st Republic day with great enthusiasm and patriotism. ARRIVE DERCI Biding Adieu to the class of 2019-20 A farewell was organised for the outgoing batch of Class X on 15 Feb. 2020. The students of class X were welcomed by class IX. A cultural programme was organised by class IX which began with a short prayer service followed by fun and frolic. It was a moment of cherishing the good memories. Principal Dr. Naveen Singh gave a message to class X by giving out mementos that would remind them of their school. This was followed by lunch for the students of class X. 13

BOOk FAIR A three days book fair was organised at the KG hall of the school. Students were keen to explore varied books. INAUGURAL CEREMONY New Reference Centre Newly constructed \"Ivy Memorial Library was dedicated by our School Principal Sir, Management, Father Rev. John Chiman & Rev Daniel Masih. All the school fraternity took part in this dedication service.\" The library\" is well lit with LED lights & can accommodate 100+ students. Our library is designed according to the directions of our respected Late Chairman Sir and Principal Sir. Newly constructed library with 8000 volumes in its shelves to enhance, the knowledge & reading skills of our students. 14

Narrative storytelling has always been a part of our tradition. Humanity's legacy of stories and storytelling is the most precious we have. There is wisdom in our stories and songs. It is through storytelling that we construct our experiences. As long as we are engaged in storytelling that will move the culture forward, it doesn't matter what format it is. So we introduced our students to this form of storytelling in our school so that they can forward the legacy of storytelling in their future. 16

I do regular exercise, go to gym and do running in morning and evening. Q.7 : Why did you choose this profession? Ans : My father was a police officer. I was attracted to uniform of the police. Q.8 : Who is your role model? Ans : There are so many social workers who are my role model but who I really admire is Emperor Ashoka because of his loyalty and respect towards every- one. Q.9 : Sir, were you a naughty or a studious child? Ans : I was not so sincere, but yes very careful. I didnt believe in short cuts. I respected my teachers and parents. I believed in honesty and had faith in my teachers. Q.10 : How did your family react to your transferable job? Ans : I suffered during my childhood days because of my fathers transferable job. He was an officer in U.P. Police. I faced the same when I became an officer but moving to a new place is like having more and great knowledge than any other. Q.11 : How do you deal with pressure? Ans : Be patient. Maintain your normal self. Be positive. Having a positive vision is good. Avoid nagativity. Q.12 : What are your strength and weaknesses? Ans : My strength is always keep smiling and weakness is home sickness. I miss my family very much. They are all in different places right now.
