Brian Balmages’ “Three Celtic Dances” opens the show with three segments of the brass taking turns driving a selection of traditional Irish folk tunes. The battery—also in three segments—adds the flavor of tradi- tional Irish bodhrán drums. Look for the three revolving shamrocks that coalesce into one large version of Ireland’s famed three-leaf clover.
