Why Use Digital Magazines? ● Keeps everyone aware of what’s happening in the classroom ● Get people excited about digital learning ● Recognize those doing amazing things ● Share what’s new in your department, school, classroom etc.

Gathering Content: ● Gather information from co-workers or anyone you want to have a part in the development of the magazine ● Contributors submit articles in a form ● Reach out to teachers or staff members that you know are doing amazing things ● Collaboration is simple ● It helps to have more people writing content

Example Sample Magazine

Getting Started ● Create a Google Slides presentation ● Go to file and page setup to change the page size to 8.5 by 11 (you can use whatever size fits your needs, this is just a good magazine size) ● Share with any collaborators and assign pages to each collaborator ● Set guidelines for text size and font if you want ● Give a deadline for articles ● Edit pages ● Click file and download as a PDF

To Publish Magazine ● Go to pubhtml5 ● Click Quick Upload, Next ● You will be asked to log in or create account (I logged in with google) ● Upload the saved PDF to pubhtml5 ● Once complete you can view it online and share link.

Tips ● Use vertical and horizontal guides under the view tab to line things up on each page ● Use pictures to link websites instead of words ● All videos embedded from YouTube will download and work perfectly ● Have a subscribe page ● Send direct email to those featured ● Ask for feedback ● Keep track of who you are featuring ● Magazine Template
