Colouring with PRIDE.. (National Flag Day) A National flag represents and symbolizes a country. It is designated with specific meanings of its colours and symbols. The UAE flag represents justice peace, tolerance, power and moderation, under which all Emiratis live a decent life and enjoy security and stability. The UAE Flag Day was celebrated with great solemnity at BPWS kindergarten on 3rd November 2021 where our tiny tots understood the significance of each colour in the flag. The Brightness of lights all around!! (Diwali Celebration) It is time to remove the darkness of ignorance within us and replace it with the light of hope and knowledge instead. The festival of lights came alive at BPWS Kindergarten on 4th November 2021. The whole school wore a festive look with children wearing colourful dresses. “There are something’s that we can’t buy, one of such things is our childhood.” (The spirit of children’s day!) The kindergarten students of BPWS celebrated children’s day on 14th November 2021 with full enthusiasm. On this special day students came in beautiful attire as they celebrated the day with the theme party. KG1 students came in Bollywood theme & KG2 students came in fairy tale theme. Students did fun time activities like dancing, indoor games, singing etc. with their class teachers. Students were given a pearl crown as a souvenir. Where words fail.. MUSIC Speaks. (World Music day) Music ignites all areas of child development and skills for school readiness, including intellectual, social-emotion- al, motor, language, and overall literacy. It helps the body and the mind to work together. Music day was celebrated in KG on 21st November 2021 and all the students participated with lot of enthusiasm. Each class selected a song and the students prepared the same and sang in a group. Online students prepared the same song and recorded a video of themselves to share it with their friends. The day was filled with lot of excitement as the students enjoyed the group activity and the sound of the music filled the entire KG with joy. Report by Kayenat Ansari Show and tell Competition Show and tell sets the stage for children to become comfortable when speaking in public. Show and tell helps students with planning their presentation, public speaking, using different types of vocabulary and descriptive language. Show and tell competition was organized by BPWS on 7th Dec 2021 for the students to express their views and ideas and expand their vocabulary. Kinderfest- Fancy dress competition Fancy dress encourages children’s social side and provides a perfect ice-breaker helping a child to build relation- ships from an early stage. Fancy dress helps children develop their imagination. It also helps children develop emo- tionally, communicate with others, and by playing the characters that they love they learn to control their emotional responses. Kindergarten students participated in the Kinderfest – Fancy dress competition which was held on 23rd November 2021. They dressed up as various characters of their choice. They also took great pleasure in speaking confidently about their costume and why they chose the same. Long Live UAE (UAE National Day) The UAE’s National Day was extra special this year as it coincides with the country’s Golden Jubilee, mark- ing 50 years since the founding of the Emirates. On the very first national day, founding father Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan al- Nahyan united six tribal families to form the UAE. At BPWS the corridors were beautifully decorated to mark the occasion, students and staff were dedicated to celebrate milestone of the country. There were quizzes and cultural fests, displays, and celebrations organized, which focused on the events and people in the UAE. Special assembly was conducted to celebrate the UAE national day with many cultural events like dance, singing, speech etc… Kindergarten students did a group activity – poster making of UAE national emblems. Students enjoyed the fantastic day with several exciting lined up events; offering our children the opportunity to experience the “Spirit of the union” and reflect the UAE’s solidarity across its culturally diverse community. Report by Swapna Kota The Remembrance of Honour (Commemoration Day) Commemoration day is held in the UAE to honour the heroic Emirati martyrs who gave their lives for the country during civil, military, or humanitarian services in the UAE and overseas. On this day, all UAE resi- dents and citizens are reminded to be respectful. Special prayers are offered throughout the country. BPWS held a special event on 30th November 2021 to commemorate the anniversary and pay honour to UAE’S he- roes. The tiny tots of BPWS made soldier puppets during this occasion. SANTA IS HERE…. (Christmas Celebration) Christmas brings cheer and love and we celebrated it with the same fer- vour, spreading the message of love and joy among our children. On 9th December the kindergarten students of BPWS celebrated Christmas by exhibiting their talent through songs and dance performances. The chil- dren spread cheer with their smiles and lovely attire. Children did Christ- mas cap making activity that added to the joy of the occasion. With Happiness in our Hearts.. Let us salute our NATION (National Flag Day ) The United Arab Emirates (U.A.E) Flag Day is a national occasion where people of the UAE remember the efforts of the founders of their State, Sheikh Zayed and Sheikh Rashid, and their brothers who sacrificed everything for the sake of their nation. It is a day when the national spirit is renewed, and an occasion to reflect on the achievements of the era of the President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Bhavans Pearl Wisdom School, Al Ain celebrated the UAE Flag Day and conducted various activities on 3rd No- vember 2021. Sharp at 11 am, the school Principal Dr. K T Nandakumar hoisted the National Flag in front of the school. A special assembly was conducted in the library hall by the students, in which cultural programmes like UAE special dances by the girls in colourful costumes were held, besides the normal school assembly procedures. All the students were allowed to wear UAE Flag colour costumes on this occasion. There was a class room decora- tion competition also, in which all the students and teachers took part in a healthy competitive spirit. The UAE flag represents meanings of justice, peace, tolerance, power and moderation, under which all Emiratis live a decent life and enjoy security and stability. This comes in continuation of the legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. The celebration really helped pass these messages in the minds of the pupils. Children’s Day “Children are like buds in a garden and should be carefully and lovingly nurtured, as they are the future of the nation and the citizens of tomorrow.” - Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Children are innocent, children are mischievous, but children bring a smile to one’s face. One of the most treasured possessions on earth, children, are loved by everyone. Thus, Children’s Day is celebrated to commemorate children’s healthy growth and happiness. In honour of our beloved Prime Minister Late Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, a special assem- bly was conducted as part of the Children’s Day Celebration. The teachers took on the stage and conducted the assembly with excitement and vigour. The teachers put up a great show which included music and speech, especially for the children. The children were very excited and felt appreciated and loved. The message conveyed to all was to put wings to your dreams and never to let hurdles stop you!! HEROES never DIE.. They LIVE FOREVER!! (Commemoration Day) Commemoration Day, previously known as Martyrs’ Day (yawm ash-shahiid), is marked annually on 30th Novem- ber in the United Arab Emirates, recognizing the sacrifices and dedication of Emirati martyrs who have given their life in the UAE and abroad in the fields of civil, military and humanitarian services. The first Emirati policeman to die was Salem bin Khamis Al Dahmani on November 30, 1971. On August 19, 2015, the date of Al Dahmani’s death was announced as an official Commemoration Day, by the Hon’ble President of the UAE, H.H. Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Bhavans Pearl Wisdom School, Al Ain observed the UAE Commemoration Day on 30th November 2021. At 8:00 am, the National Flag in front of the school was lowered to half-mast. Sharp at 11:29 am, all the students and staff of the school got ready for one-minute silent prayer. After the formal announcement about the importance of the day, at 11:30 am, the silent prayer started and ended at 11:31 am. Soon after that, the school Principal Dr. K T Nan- dakumar hoisted the National Flag and a Flag Salute was offered. Commemoration Day badges were distributed to all the staff in the morning which were worn by them throughout the day. The day honours the heroes with nationwide remembrance to those who gave their souls for their homeland. Obser- vation of the day helped instil these values in the minds of the pupils. Security that’s always on!! (International Computer Security Day) These days, electronic devices such as smartphones, tablets, and computers make up an important component of our everyday lives. While communication has become easier and more efficient than ever before, these technologi- cal advancements have brought with them new concerns about privacy and security. Keeping in mind the growing need to address the security and privacy concerns surrounding computers, Interna- tional Computer Security Day is observed on 30th November every year. This day is celebrated with the purpose of generating awareness about various computer security issues and equipping people with the knowledge they need to secure the sensitive data and personal information stored on their devices. As part of Computer Security Day, Grade 8 students conducted an awareness class for other classes with the help of their Computer Science Teacher. The Calculus Minds…. (Senior Math Lab-Inauguration) The concept of Mathematics Laboratory is an innovative step to make mathematics — a fun to learn and easy to grasp subject. The method is effective, interesting and enjoyable. Mathematics plays a dominant role in one’s life, therefore the purpose of this Math Labs is to help students in application of mathematical concepts in real life situations. This lab will enable students to learn and explore mathematics concepts and verify mathematical facts using multiple teaching and learning aids, consisting of technology applications, measuring instruments, tables and charts etc. The laboratory also encourages the students to think, discuss amongst themselves as well as with the teacher, and assimilate concepts. Math lab is a breakthrough initiative to make the present curriculum simpler and interesting, thereby bring back the joy of learning Mathematics. The lab also enables the teachers to demonstrate, explain and reinforce abstract Mathematical ideas by using concrete objects, models, charts, graphs, pictures, post- ers etc. it is a practical oriented classroom or place where materials useful for the effective teaching and learning of mathematics are kept. It facilitates their teaching pedagogies with the aid of modern mathematics laboratories to be able to achieve the objectives of the mathematics education. Diwali, the festival of lights and Christmas that enlighten the hearts and bring joy to every heart, was virtually celebrated at BPWS on 5th December 2021. The program started with prayer. Director Madam Divya Rajesh Ramachandran, our Principal, along with other faculty meembers lit the lamp of wisdom. Madam Divya Rajesh Ramachandran, the Chief Guest, addressed the gathering and shared a great message with all of us. The boundless joy of celebrating this festival was quite evident on the faces of each child. The pinnacle of talent was a treat to watch. A Destination for the New Travel Plans Students of BPWS under the guidance of the Dept. of UAE Social studies prepared and released Al Ain tourist brochure in collaboration with the Dept. of Computer Science in connection with the Golden Jubi- lee celebrations of the UAE. AZADI KA AMRIT MAHAOTSAV (MESSAGE TO THE PRIME MINISTER) Students of BPWS actively participated in the Post card cam- paign as a part of the celebrations of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahot- sav, jointly organized by the Department of Posts, GOI in as- sociation with Ministry of External Affairs. Students prepared handwritten Post Cards addressed to the Hon. Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi which will be sent through the embassy of India. ISSUE : 06 November 2021 PAGE 22
