As the restrictions of COVID 19 eased, there’s a mood of celebration and relief among children, parents and teachers alike on the first day of school after the spring break of 2022. The commencement of classes, celebrated as Praveshanolsavam (Entrance Fest), created the happiness among students including the toddlers who stepped into school for the first time. Everything was set as students returned to our campus to begin the new academic year. Wellbeing Club, which is meant to ensure mental health of students and staff, coordinated many programs to welcome the students on this first day. Students were both excited and happy as their minds were filled with new hopes and new dreams. School management took all the necessary steps to ensure safety under the guidance of ADEK. The school principal , Mr. CKA Manaf along with the academic coordinator Ms. Smitha Vimal, Admin Manger, Mr. Midun Siddarth and teachers welcomed the students heartily offering them an effective learning environment that optimizes the ability of students to learn. The classes were beamed with radiating glow of happiness in the faces of all students who were thrilled to interact with their peers as well as with their teachers. 18 APRIL 2022 , 17-RAMADAN, 1443 To welcome the holy month of Ramadan, a progrmme named ‘Ahlan Ramadan’ was conducted by the Department of Islamic Studies for all the cycles on April 14th. It was inaugurated by Mr. CKA Manaf, Principal in the presence of SLT members. He emphasized the need for purification of mind and body in this Holy month of Ramadan. “The month of Ramadan is a month where we get ourselves mentally and physically cleansed from all sorts of impurities” – he added .Mr Abdul Azeez, the Vice Principal gave Ramdan message to students emphasizing to keep the purity and holiness of the month. The program was felicitated by Mrs. Smitha, the Academic Co-ordinator of the school and Mr. Midhun, Admin Manager, Oasis International School presented a key note address on Ramadan. Mr Vaishak, Activity Co-ordinator, introduced the charity project named ‘One Billion Meals’ campaign’. Saba, HoD of Islamic Studies Department, welcomed the audience and Mr. Ajmal, Faculty member of Islamic Studies offered the vote of thanks. 18 APRIL 2022 , 17-RAMADAN, 1443 SCHOOL TAKES PART IN ‘1 BILLION MEALS CAMPAIGN’ Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum launched the “one Billion Meal” campaignwhich aims to provide food in more than 50 countries as a part of charity in this holy month. In order to enhance the role of the local community in all its sectors, institutions and individuals, accompanying initiatives were invited to support the main campaign through the (Yalla give) platform, that provides the committee donations, and all contributions go directly to the One Billion Meals campaign. Oasis International School is also taken part in this charity drive. Collection points have been set up in each cycle inside the school to collect the amount. Collection is going on in different classes. Positive responses from parent community are getting in this regard. ORGANISE ORIENTATIONS FOR PARENTS “A parent is a teacher at home and a teacher is a parent in school and the child is the centre of our universe”. As the new academic year commenced, school planned to orient parents about the dos and don’ts and answer the queries on what’s and when’s. Orientation provides the right platform to the teachers and parents when they could interact extensively. The school organised orientation programme for the parents on campus during the first week of April 2022. The major objectives of the orientations were to make the parents aware of the academic aspects, the rules and regulations of the school and ensuring parent participation in monitoring the performance and progress of the students. Supervisors across the cycle welcomed the parents on the occasion and presented the PPT on the academic policies for the year 2022-2023. Parents were briefed the rules and regulations of the school with regard to uniform, attendance, and co- curricular activities. Parents were acquainted with their ward’s class teachers and section supervisors to ease the communication between them.
