Description: Russ Simons - Trends in Security and Crowd Management

Russ Simons, the Chief Listening Officer of Venue Solutions Group and an IIFX Distinguished Fellow is one of the great thought leaders in the sports & entertainment industry. Recently, Russ spoke to a Security Best Practices group about trends in security and crowd management.

Russ reminds us that our world is much different than January 2020 and that risks are coming from sources we may not have seen as a threat or that the likelihood that these new threats become real is increasing. He warned us all against complacency in the face of escalating fan violence, which is compounded by a coarsening of societal norms, low numbers of staff at most sports & entertainment venues, and staff with limited training and experience.
