THE DYNAMIC COSMOS Introduction: In one atom are found all the elements of the earth, in one motion of the mind are found the motions of all the laws of existence. In one drop of water are found the secrets of all the endless oceans. In one aspect of you are found all the aspects of existence. 1 This exhibition embodies a shared mission taken on by each of these artists, Alex Grey, Amanda Sage, David Heskins, Aloria Weaver, Mimbi Rose, Rosa Beryl, James Anthony, and Lorelei Majken Matzau. 1 Gibran, Kahill, ‘Secrets of the heart’, A treasury of Kahlil Gibran, L Wolf, 1947, p. 140.

Throughout time, consciously or not, art has been a powerful way to communicate. It’s a universal language, it holds the ability to illuminate concerns, opinions and allow an authentic message to be interpreted in the minds of the individual viewer, no matter the culture or the circumstances. This exhibition The Dynamic Cosmo was created to inspire an opening of awareness, it hopes to change the audience’s perspective and relationship with life and our environment. Over the short period, we have been on this planet, humans have abused our power of free will, by steadily stripping and demolishing a vast majority of Earth’s beautiful resources. The following artists believe that we are a part of this earth for a different experience. We can no longer think of ourselves as a independent species, this is a global perceptive that has significant negative effects on our personal and planetary wellness. There is a spiritual connection between humans and the environment, and with the correct awareness, there is potential for an entirely new realm of harmony.

To fully comprehend the vastness of our task at hand, we must understand that we are not just a being with one little lifetime... we are a vast web of interconnected relationships, where every single thought and action is felt by all of the other pieces of the web. 2 These ideas have been found foryears, for centuries in science and myth, for example interdependent species belief rose in the late sixties, and was coined by Dr. James Lovelock, a NASA scientist. on the other hand Gaia Theory is the idea that the earth is a superorganism that possesses living organisms that interact with their surroundings, forming complex systems that rely on maintaining and perpetuating the conditions for life on earth. Originally Gaia was the Greek goddess of the earth. In this modern-day society, we have been living recklessly, removed from all systems and consideration of connection to nature, and have morphed into slow-moving cogs, in a seemingly, forever destructive society. 2 Montgomery, Pam, ‘Partner Earth’, A Spiritual Ecology, Introduction, 1997, p.4.

If art has been a powerful way to communicate then maybe this exhibition can help save our dynamic Cosmos. The following selected artists take on the mission with different techniques and approaches, Amanda Sage and Alex Grey use painting to project their visions of connected systems of Earth’s energies. Mimbi Rose and Rosa Beryl draw from nature as inspiration to honor and express concerns for lost appreciation of Earth. David Heskin and Aloria Weaver look deeply inward as they draw awareness to spirit. Anthony James and Lorelei Majken Matzau take a spiritual journey by manipulating the atmosphere with mineral energies.

American artist, Amanda Sage utilizes art as a tool for spiritual, collective planetary growth and transformation. Sage takes on this mission with the aim to “shatter the illusion of separation to challenge the viewer to question and evolve out of ignorance, conditioning, and ingrained genetic habits.” 3 Painted during the Global eclipse gathering in Oregon, 2017. This celestial event marked the beginning of a new era of community, and so does this painting. Sage filled A New Dawn with manifestations of hope, incorporating beautiful symbols and geometric shapes. Represents multidimensional aspects of humanness in harmonious balance, inspiring viewers to be mindful and present with all of the connected energetic forces shared with all living organisms, fundamental units of life. American visual artist, author, teacher, and Vajrayana practitioner Alex Grey, creates a unique blend of sacred, visionary, spiritual art. Inspiration for Gaia came to him in a vision when his daughter was born, symbolizing the natural cycle of birth, reflecting the current environmental crisis. Both a vision of a divided and damage society and a homage to the interdependent web of indispensable elements that belong to Lady Gaia. Grey incorporates many religious symbols, including auras and icons with geometric shapes and tessellations in natural, industrial and multicultural situations in their divine nature. ‘Death was woven into the tapestry of nature; Gaia continuously gave birth to live through the love energy in her heart. The future generations of humanity were symbolized by a human mother nursing in Gaia’s cave.’ 4 Alex Grey Gaia, Progress of the soul, 1989 Oil on Linen 4 Grey, Alex, Paintings, ‘Progress of the Soul,’ Gaia, https://www.alexgrey.com/art/paintings/soul/alex-grey-gaia-3 [1989]

Self-taught Australian Visionary artist, Mimbi Rose, has been exploring Visionary art for five years now. Through this exploration, she gained a personal understanding of the direct connection between herself and the ever-blooming and evolving beauty of mother nature. On her journey of healing and exploring the connection we have lost to ourselves and our creative purpose, Mimbi Rose expresses her belief in the interconnectedness of all living things. Inspired by nature and its positive benefits on our wellbeing, believing it grounds you. Vibrating paint strokes illuminate the connection of energies, as a lovely reminder that we are surrounded by a network of harmony. Mimbi Rose Interconnectedness, 2019 Oil on canvas

Deeply inspired and influenced by the lush, green forests and plant life that surrounds her, Rosa Beryl, a Western Massachusetts based Visual Artist. Rosa Beryl uses art to escape into an imaginary utopia, weaving together beautiful elements of nature and colourful visions of geometric shapes and tessellations. Beryl responds to our ever expanding disconnection from nature, her aim is to inspire people to honour the connection to the living land and show a sense of appreciation. She creates tranquil and soothing movements of light, vibrational light to illuminate plants and nature as a way of presenting them as higher elements. ‘I want people to see my art, and feel inspired to connect with the plants and animals around them.’ 5 Rosa Beryl Nocturnal Sunrise, 2021 Acrylic on canvas 5 Beryl, Rosa, ‘Boston Voyager,’ Art 7 Life with Rosa Beryl, Local Stories, http://bostonvoyager.com/interview/art-life-rosa-beryl/ [2017]

Visionary Artists duo, Husband and wife, David Heskin and Aloria Weaver, American artists. Working side by side, collaborating in all aspects of life. Heskins and Weaver express the natural beauty of human existence and elaborate hidden sacred geometric patterns. Heskins believes that It is the responsibility of the modern artist to look inward, then forward... and inward again... its presence must deliver a vision which will continue to inspire the advancements of personal and cultural evolution. 6 With the rising light of warmth Light Rider aspires to influence a global acknowledgment and engagement to consciousness energy that is your spirit, a belief that you are a soul having a physical experience. Looking inwards for this mission, Aloria Weaver and David Heskins draw forth a new vision of reality to invite viewers to appreciate the ‘inspirational light of creativity.’ Art has the capacity, through beauty, to illuminate the transcendental, sacred nature of human existence, and to deepen the otherwise limited perceptions of the physical world. 7 Aloria Weaver expresses interest in the celestial order of the universe. Conveying gratitude to our souls, unfortunately, inspired as a tribute to a friend passing. Arms stretched overhead, striving to reach for the portal to her higher self as her physical body withers away into ‘stardust.’ The celestial geometric patterns symbolize a magnetic alignment between self and cosmos. Taking a different materialistic approach is English Artist, Widely known for his minimal, formal, and experimental sculptures, James Anthony, represent platonic solids. A series of three-dimensional polyhedrons, filled with harmonious, symmetrical, geometric visions. Inspired by Anthony’s fascination with solid forms of crystals, their outer geometry reflects its inner geometry. Crystals consist of molecules that are consistently repeated arrangement in a distinct order, likeness to the orders of Gaia. James Anthony is inspirited with science, spirituality and philosophy in an object at its purest form. ‘My intention is to bring an impossible concept like the idea of infinity, or the cosmos, into physical objective existence.’ 8 James Anthony’s artworks are a new look at sculpture as light becomes a tangible material, the LED lights lead your eyes on an infinite journey into the abyss, that changes, shrinks and expands depending on your position in relationship with the sculptures, inspired by the universe and crystals. Anthony James Icosahedron Portals, Series, 2019 Stainless Steel, specislised glass, LED, Solar black 8 James, Anthony, ‘Anthony James Studio,’ Portals / Platonic Solids / Archimedean Solids, http://www.anthonyjamesstudio.com/aboutaj [2008]

Merging her psychological and spiritual journey by performing in concerts and ceremonies is Lorelei Majken Matzau, a Danish psychologist, author, composer, works with 60 different types of crystal singing bowls. Crystal singing bowls made from gemstones and precious metals are a powerful instrument for healing, as our bodies are crystalline-based structures, the bowls not only have a psychological effect on us, it also a deep physical effect on our organs and cells. The song of the bowls transform, store, and focus energy. Lorelei will be commencing a sound bath that circulates meditative frequencies throughout the exhibition. A sound bath is a performance that allows high vibrational rhythms to pulsate through the audience, assisting them on a deeper inner journey. The audience is welcome to embrace the experience fully by lying down or taking a seat, closing eyes, allowing themselves to experience the full benefits.

Geoff Wilson Gallery The Dynamic Cosmos, 2021 Including artworks by Aloria Weaver and Anthony James.

I believe it’s the prime time for this exhibition The Dynamic Cosmos to be in discussion due to society only now shifting mindsets, taking control and no longer standing for oppression and destruction, moving towards holism, and encouraging diversity. It is believed that Humankind cannot evolve and shift with the changes of Earth without the expansion of awareness. To achieve what many perceive as too difficult, to open their mind and acknowledge that we are interdependent of something even bigger. ‘A path of beauty, harmony, and abundance on Gaia, our partner who returns love and nourishment to us in such bounty.’ 9 Through the talents of Artists Alex Grey, Amanda Sage, David Heskins, Aloria Weaver, Mimbi Rose, Rosa Beryl, James Anthony, and Lorelei Majken Matzau, The Dynamic Cosmos is a tool to open up universal conversations within our communities. Through the use of visual and auditory stimuli this exhibition guides and inspire an opening of awareness, its ambition is to change the viewer’s perspective and relationship with all life. We need to challenge ourselves and what it means to live with this truth of being interconnected. We need to work on ways that it can positively affect our environment and our society. How will you ignite change? 9 Medicine, Brooke, ‘Partner Earth’, A Spiritual Ecology. 1997, p.5.
