Director Talks The last quarter of the Financial year2021-22, with the dawn of a new year has witnessed hectic activities. As usual this period also we had so many short term training programmes due to the increased demand from the user organizations. Thus the total programmes for January to March2022 was 37 and the total number of trainees was 248. This results in a total number of 85 programmes and total number 3358 trainees. This is really a great achievement by the collective endeavor of the ICM Team. Considering the second wave of covid in the form of Delta and third wave in the form of “Omicrone”. The achievement of the Institutes was really record breaking. Moreover, ICM Kannur has been working with a limited area of only 7 districts. Along with our MDPs, the students of MBA and HDCM have taken initiatives for the conduct of various programmes On March 8th as part of International Women's Day organized a seminar on “Gender Equality today for Sustainable tomorrow. The lecturer given by Ms. Shine Beneven was an eye opener for all, particularly women. Road safety campaign organized by students of MBA has attracted the attention of the public and the RTO appreciated the pro- gramme. The talk given by Smt. Madhavi Vipradas, Chief Manager, Cooperative Relations, IFFCO, on the topic, the IFFCO and its Promo- tional Role on Cooperatives\" was really useful to our students of HDCM. Similarly the Seminar on the Role of NDDB in the Indi- an Dairy Cooperatives” with the lead talk given by Sri. Divyaraj Brahmapath gave a lot of valuable ideas regarding to the Com- munications of NDDB. This year also Kudumbasree Mission has come forward to partner with us, for the conduct of an Entrepreneurial Development Programme for the marketing people of Kudumbasree. Marketing Earn While Learning Programme\" of HDCM-33, Batch of ICMK. ICM Kannur, HDCM-33, Batch students launched a novel programme called \"Earn While Learning Programme\". The programme was inaugurated by Sri. Dinesh Babu, Chairman, Dinesh Beedi Workers Central Co-operative Society (DBWCCS) in a function presided over by Sri. Sasikumar M.V., Director, ICMK on14thJune 2022. The training programme was conducted to enhance the skill level of students in marketing the products of co- operative organisations under the leadership of Sri. International Co-operative Day -2022 The Institute of Co-operative Management, Kannur celebrated the 100th International Co- operative Day on July 2, 2022, under the leadership of HDCM-33 batch students. The programme was inaugurated by Mr. Dr. Sanil. S.K. (Managing Director, Kerala State Co-operative Marketing Federation), in an online function presided over by Sri. Sasikumar. M.V., Director, ICMK. A presentation on \"Co-operatives Build a Better World\" was performed by Sri.Abhilash. K.V . (Student, HDCM-33) and the discussions were led a Better World was performed by Sri. Abhilash. K.V. Study visit of HDCM students Events…. The HDCM-33 Batch’s Observation study tour was conducted dur- ing 15-25 May2022.The participants were taken to Tamil Nadu and West Bengal to learn more about the operations of co- operatives outside their state. Students stayed at Natesan Institute of Cooperative Management (NICM), Chennai, and the Director, Shri. G. Suresh, spoke about the various training programmes and courses offered by NICM. Participants paid a visit to the Triplicane Urban Co-operative Soci- ety, the first consumer co-operative society in India, and learnt about the general working of consumer co-operatives. Participants finished their observation study tour in the state of Tamil Nadu and then proceeded to West Bengal for the rest of the study tour. The Gontra Samabaya Krishi UnnayanS amity Ltd (PACS), Gaigatta Thana Agricultural Primary Marketing Co- operative Society Ltd, West Bengal State Co-operative Union Ltd, and West Bengal State Co-operative Bank Ltd were the co- operative organizations visited by the students as part of their Observation Study Tour.

Outstation Programme— Leadership Development Programme- Ghandi Nagar Leadership Development Programme for the Board of Directors and Chief Executives of PACS of Kerala in collaboration with Regional Institute of Cooperative Management, Gandhinagar, Gujarat was conducted during 25 - 27 August 2022. 39 participants attended the programme from 17 PACS of Kerala. The PACS were from Kasaragod, Kannur, Kozhikode and Malappuram Districts. A few Board of Directors and Chief Executives from the PACS attended the programme. Outstation Programme— Leadership Development Programme- Ghandinagar The Programme was inaugurated by Dr. A K Asthana, Director, RICM, Gandhi Nagar at the campus of RICM. After that formal sessions started with the emphasis on the cooperative identity by Mr. Abhilash, Faculty ICM Kannur and moved on coopera- tive models of state of Gujarat by Dr. A.K. Asthana, Director, RICM, Gandhi Nagar. The Methodology on the first day forenoon session was Lecture, discussion and video demonstration. By afternoon on the first day the participants visited Indian Farmers and Fertilizers Cooperatives Ltd. (IFFCO), Kalol, Gujarat. Mr. Rahul, Public Relations Officer and Mr. Tripadi, Human Resources Manager of IFFCO discussed and demonstrated the functioning of IFFCO with the participants. The officials of IFFCO shown very much interest to clarify various doubts aroused by the participants. News…. Outstation Programme @ Gandhinagar Participants at AMUL, Anand, Gujarat. After the visit at IFFCO, participants visited Adlaj Stepwell and Akshardham Temple, Gandhinagar. The team appreciated on the tourism developmental activi- ties found there. On day 02nd, the participants visited Statue of Unity and knew about the transformation of a village into township and appreciated about the changed standard of living of the people living there. On day 03rd there was an exposure visit to AMUL, Anand, Gujarat. Mr. Piyush, The Public Relations Officer demonstrated and discussed the functioning of AMUL with the team. The team members wondered on the contributions given by Dr. Varghese Kurian and Tribun Das Pattel to change the life of villagers engaged in Dairy Farming. The formation of Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation Ltd. gave colour on the life of farmers engaged in Dairy Farming. The participants appreciated the management techniques used for the growth of AMUL and thereby increased standard of liv- ing of people in the villages of Gujarat. Contd...

HINDI PAKHWARA PROGRAMME Shri. M. V. Sasikumar, Director with Mizoram Delegates in Hindi day ICMK was conducted Hindi pakhwara programme during Sept 14-28th 2022 at our campus.
