Nearly 250 participants consisting students and faculty members from various departments attended the programme. The webinar started at 4 p.m. with welcome to the Guest Speaker Dr. R. Suresh Kumar, Head, Department of Microbiology, Government Siddha Medical College, under the Directorate of Indian Medicine, News Presenter and TV Anchor in Sun Network, Chennai, and participants by Dr. S. Sripriya, Assistant Professor, Department of Economics. She introduced the speaker. The speaker delivered an excellent speech on “Effective Communication Skills – The Art of Presenting Yourself”. He explained the following things  What is effective communication?  Lack of communication and miscommunication leads to problems.  What is life and quality life?  How we are making the life complicated.  We have to live our life and love our life.  The power of mind.

 Gist of life.  How to fill the gap between birth to death?  Importance of giving faith to children.  Have to be strong in decision making, positive energy, clarity and determinant in fixing the goal and presenting oneself, by quoting Thirukkural, Bhudha’s views, Dr.A.P.J Abdul Kalam’s words. The faculty members and students were interacted with the speaker. The programme were co-ordinated by Dr. M. Mehar Banu, Assistant Professor, and Department of Economics and ended with vote of thanks by Mrs. C. Sri Priya, Assistant Professor,Department of Economics. Profile of the Speaker Dr. R. Suresh Kumar has around 30 years of working experience in Microbiology in various fields like Quality Control and R&D, in industries like TTK and SPIC for about 7 years, and working as an Assistant Professor of Microbiology (gazetted rank) in Govt. Stanley Medical College, Chennai for 13 years, and now heading the Department of Microbiology in Govt . Siddha Medical College, under the Directorate of Indian Medicine for the past 12 years. He entered media, first in Chennai Doordharshan, 25 years ago as programme presenter and News presenter. Subsequently he joined Sun Network 23 years before as News presenter. Along with News, he was offered to anchor the most popular and valuable programme amidst the film industry people and the audience, ‘TOP TEN MOVIES’ the same year. He has completed 1088 episodes on Nov 7th 2019, and make a record in Tamil sat TV, without any break in the past 21 years, though it is a weekly recorded programme.

He has been doing special programmes for festivals, special interviews with VIPs like film actors and directors and also interviewed and discussed with leading political leaders before election, and during counting, on live. He helped in organizing medical programmes and writing medical news script. He organised and present Government programmes on stage with the Chief Minister, coordinating with Ministers, IAS and IPS officers. He also owned a YouTube channel “The Stager Television” which includes videos of Movie Reviews and Health care tips.
