Selepas itu, ia ditukar menjadi pangkalan tentera British dan kemudiannya sebagai markas tentera Jepun semasa Perang Dunia Kedua. Sejak itu, bangunan ini telah dijadikan lokasi untuk beberapa peristiwa penting, seperti persidangan pertama Parlimen Malaysia dan upacara pertabalan beberapa raja malaysia. Dan hari ini, bangunan yang pernah dijadikan kediaman ini akhirnya menjadi pusat maklumat bagi pelancong. Pengunjung boleh menempah lawatan, menukar wang, membuat tempahan hotel, melayari Internet, mengaturkan beca untuk mengelilingi kota, membuat panggilan telefon antarabangsa, dan menempah tiket kapal terbang ataupun bas untuk ke destinasi tertentu di Malaysia. Galeri di muzium Pini mempunyai temanya sendiri, dengan barang pameran dan harta tidak ternilai seperti naskah Islam, hasil kerja logam dan tekstil, seramik dan barang gelas, senjata api, baju besi dan syiling. Antara yang dipamerkan termasuk replika indah bangunan terkenal seperti Taj Mahal di India, Makam Amir Timur di Uzbekistan, dan Masjid Al-Haram di Makkah. Memorial ini menyimpan artifak dan memorabilia yang berkaitan dengan kehidupan ‘Bapa Kemerdekaan Malaysia’. Muzium ini terletak Iberhampiran dengan Taman Tasik Perdana dan menempatkan warisan sejarah negara yang paling penting. Seni bina Muzium Negara terdiri daripada 26 tiang konkrit (13 tiang ke timur dan barat bangunan, mewakili negeri-negeri di Malaysia). Cameron Highlands is a highland region located about 121 km east of Ipoh and about 214 km north of Kuala Lumpur, in Pahang, Malaysia. There are also the Brinchang Hindu Temples and the Sam Poh Chinese Mahayana Buddhist Temple. Other features include Cactus Point, Cactus Valley and the BOH Tea Plantation. There is Market Square, the Cameron Highlands Time Tunnel Galeria (at nearby Kea Farm) and accommodation at the Kampung Taman Sedia Homestay, Tanah Rata and The Smokehouse Hotel. The Tanah Rata area has an extensive network of forest trails. Some are a short 15 – 20 minutes’ walk starting close to the town centre. Others range across several kilometres of hills and require more skill and fi tness. Several notable easy walks are to nearby Parit Falls and Robinson Falls. Trails are marked in a rudimentary way with weathered yellow signs mostly in Bahasa Malaysia (national language). The Cameron Highlands Discovery map available widely in tourist shops shows the various numbered walking trails (called Paths) and indicates the level of diffi culty in certain places. It is not a detailed, to-scale map and hikers should be aware. The level of diffi culty can vary. Some trails (ex. Path #9) are relatively fl at or gently sloping (riverside), others are steep and challenging, especially to the hill tops of Gunung Berembun (1812m) and Gunung Brinchang (2000m). Trail fl oors are often criss-crossed by a dense network of tree roots. Many tourist operators in town offer guided half day and full day expeditions into the hills.

Lain daripada yang lain, dan dengan kubah berbentuk bintang yang unik, ia mewakili 13 negeri dalam Malaysia dan lima rukun Islam. Masjid yang mampu menampung 10,000 orang ini terletak di atas tanah seluas 13 hektar yang indah dengan taman dan air pancut. Pengunjung dibenarkan masuk ke masjid tetapi mereka diwajibkan memakai pakaian yang sesuai bagi menghormati tempat beribadat. Jubah dan tudung boleh dipinjam di pintu masuk. Masjid ini dibina dengan gaya Muslim India yang tersendiri. MPada asalnya, ia dibina sebagai sebuah pondok kayu pada tahun 1863, tetapi selepas melalui beberapa kali kerja pemulihan, masjid yang indah ini akhirnya kelihatan seperti sekarang ini. Masjid ini dibuka oleh Sultan Selangor pada tahun 1966 dan dapat menampung seramai 3500 jemaah. Namun, masjid ini tidak terbuka untuk pengunjung bukan Islam yang gg y hanya boleh mengagumi keindahannya dari luar. y Berhampiran dengan Jalan Tun Perak Ambil LRT Putra atau LRT STAR, dan turun di Stesen Masjid Jamek. Ikut tanda jalan yang menghala ke Masjid India yang terletak tidak jauh dari sana. Masjid Jamek ibina pada tahun 1909, Masjid Jamek merupakan masjid tertua di bandar. Masjid ini terletak di titik pertemuan di antara Sungai DKelang dan Sungai Gombak, yang merupakan tempat kelahiran Kuala Lumpur. Kawasan ini juga merupakan salah satu tempat pertama di mana peneroka awal membina kediaman mereka. Ilham untuk menggunakan seni bina Mogul pada masjid datang dari utara India. Masjid ini merupakan masjid utama di bandar sehingga pembukaan Masjid Negara pada tahun 1965. Hari ini, ia masih terbuka untuk umum, dan ia mengingatkan warga kota tentang sejarah awal Kuala Lumpur. MENJELAJAH TEMPAT MENARIK || 55 Tempat Beribadat Kuil Thean Hou uil Cina yang terletak di puncak bukit ini sebenarnya masih baharu, dan ia hanya dibina pada tahun 1989. Kuil ini dibina untuk memperingati tiga dewa, termasuk dewi Thean KHou. Meskipun ia kuil moden, ini tidak mempengaruhi seni bina kuil. Kuil Thean Hou memaparkan kedua-dua ciri klasik dan moden, dengan tiang merah di pintu masuk yang membawa kemakmuran dan nasib baik kepada mereka yang berjalan menerusinya. Kuil ini dilengkapi dengan patung-patung dari 12 binatang dalam zodiak Cina dan dihiasi dengan tanglung dan naga, sebagai simbol kehidupan Cina. Kuil Sze Ya a merupakan kuil Tao yang tertua di bandar dengan sejarahnya bermula pada tahun I1864. Ia dibina oleh salah seorang pengasas Kuala Lumpur, iaitu Kapitan Yap Ah Loy. Kuil ini menampilkan paparan hiasan yang rumit dan indah. Kuil yang terletak di kawasan Chinatown KL ini dibina untuk memberi penghormatan kepada dewa pelindung, Sin Sze Ya dan Si Sze Ya. Dipercayai bahawa ramalan daripada dewa Sze Ya telah memandu Kapitan Cina semasa Perang Saudara Selangor. Kuil ini unik kerana dua dewa utama yang disembah bukan dewa tradisional yang berasal dari China. Sebaliknya, mereka adalah dua orang tempatan yang dinaikkan tarafnya kepada dewa berdasarkan merit mereka. Oleh itu, kedua-dua dewa ini dianggap sebagai dewa pelindung oleh penduduk tempatan di Kuala Lumpur. Persimpangan Lebuh Pudu dan Jalan Tun H.S. 56 || MENJELAJAH TEMPAT MENARIK Tempat Beribadat Batu Caves atu Caves yang terletak kira-kira 11 km di sebelah utara bandar ditemui pada tahun B1881 oleh seorang peneroka Amerika. Selama itu, tempat ini digunakan sebagai tempat perkelahan bagi penjajah, dan kemudian sebagai tempat persembunyian bagi komunis. Sekarang, gua ini merupakan tempat beribadat yang penting bagi umat Hindu. Di dalam gua, Subramaniam Swamy Temple merupakan pusat pemujaan untuk dewa Hindu, Murugan. Gua ini menjadi penuh sesak apabila umat Hindu dan pengunjung dari seluruh dunia datang ke Batu Caves semasa perayaan Hindu, Thaipusam. Pengunjung yang hadir ke perayaan ini akan kagum dengan ribuan umat Hindu yang tubuh mereka dicucuk dengan cangkuk, jarum dan pencucuk logam selepas meletakkan diri dalam keadaan bersawai. Pengunjung boleh juga naik 272 anak tangga yang mengagumkan menuju ke kuil. Pengunjung yang meminati lukisan yang menggambarkan adegan-adegan daripada cerita rakyat Hindu dan patung-patung dewa boleh menziarahi Art Gallery Cave. Gombak Batu Caves Art Gallery dan Swamy Subramaniam Temple dibuka dari 08:30 hingga19:00 RM 1.00 untuk Batu Caves Art Gallery; Kemasukan percuma untuk Subramaniam Swamy Temple. Ambil bas terus ke Batu Caves dari perhentian bas Bangkok Bank di Kuala Lumpur. Anda boleh ambil LRT STAR, dan turun di Stesen LRT Plaza Rakyat untuk pergi ke terminal bas. Jalan keluar ini akan membawa anda terus ke terminal bas yang terletak di sebelah kanan anda. Sebagai pilihan lain, naik bas Rapid KL (No 11 atau 69) dari Pasar Seni. Bas ini akan membawa anda terus ke Batu Caves. Tatt Khalsa Diwan ebagai kuil Sikh yang terbesar di Asia Tenggara dan salah satu institut Sikh yang tertua di Malaysia, Tatt Khalsa Diwan ditubuhkan pada awal abad ke-19 oleh pendatang Sikh Sdari daerah Malwa di Punjab. Kuil ini terletak di tengah-tengah Kampung Baru, dan ia digunakan untuk sembahyang harian, pembaptisan, perkahwinan, pengkebumian dan kegiatan semasa perayaan Vasakhi dan upacara lain. Bersebelahan dengan kuil ialah Wisma Tatt Khalsa Diwan yang digunakan sebagai pejabat pentadbiran untuk kuil. Terdapat juga sekolah, percetakan dan perpustakaan di sana. MENJELAJAH TEMPAT MENARIK || 57 Tempat Beribadat Sri Maha Mariamman Temple uil ini dibina pada 1870-an, dan ia merupakan salah satu kuil yang paling hebat di kawasan Chinatown. Bangunan Kini dihiasi dengan gambar Dewa-Dewi Hindu dengan ukiran yang halus dan terperinci, bersama-sama dengan lukisan tangan bermotif dan hiasan keemasan. Ia merupakan salah satu daripada kuil-kuil yang paling kompleks di negera ini, dengan menara gerbang atau gopuram yang berketinggian 22 meter yang dihiasi indah dengan gaya India selatan. Sri Maha Mariamman Temple juga menempatkan kereta kuda emas yang digunakan setiap tahun untuk membawa patung dewa Hindu, Tuhan Murugan, semasa perayaan Thaipusam untuk dibawa ke Batu Caves. Pengunjung harus meninggalkan kasut mereka di pintu masuk bagi menghormati kuil sebagai tempat beribadat. 163, Jalan Tun H.S. Lee Ambil LRT Putra ke Stesen LRT Pasar Seni dan berjalan menuju ke Kompleks Membeli-belah UDA Ocean. Belok kiri dan berjalan di sepanjang Jalan Tun H.S. Lee. Anda boleh sampai ke kuil ini dalam beberapa minit. Cathedral of Saint Mary The Virgin (Gereja St Mary’s) a merupakan Gereja Anglican pertama di negara Iini yang dibina dengan bata pada tahun 1894. Ia terletak tidak jauh dari Dataran Merdeka. Ia dibina atas dasar kesederhanaan dengan tingkap kaca berwarna yang cantik, mirip dengan rumah desa Inggeris dahulu. Gereja ini boleh menampung lebih kurang 200 orang. Salah satu ciri yang paling menarik ialah organ paip yang dibina pada tahun 1895 oleh Henry Willis yang dianggap sebagai salah seorang pembuat organ terulung pada zamannya. Ambil LRT Putra atau LRT STAR ke stesen LRT Masjid Jamek (bawah tanah Putra atau landasan atas STAR). Setelah keluar dari stesen LRT, berjalan ke arah utara di sepanjang Jalan Tun Perak sejauh 200 meter, dengan bangunan lama mahkamah tinggi di sebelah kiri anda. Apabila anda sampai ke hujung bangunan, belok kiri dan berjalan sejauh 50 meter di sepanjang Jalan Raja laut. Dataran Merdeka akan kelihatan di seberang jalan di sebelah kanan anda. Gereja ini pula akan kelihatan selepas berjalan selama 10 minit. Ia terletak bersebelahan dengan Kelab Diraja Selangor.
58 || MENJELAJAH TEMPAT MENARIK Taman Taman Tasik Perdana KL aman Tasik Perdana merupakan salah satu taman yang paling popular di Kuala Lumpur. Ia terletak dengan strategiknya di tengah-tengah ‘hutan konkrit’ KL dan dibina di sekeliling T2 tasik. Taman-taman tropika ini terbentang di atas tanah dengan luas lebih daripada 200 ekar. Ia termasuk taman botanikal, pokok-pokok besar, pokok renek berbunga dan juga taman tema.
