Malaysia also has highly qualified medical practitioners operating in state of the art facilities equipped with advanced tools and machines. They are specialize in various fields from oncology, cardiology, aesthetics to cosmetic surgery at a fraction of the cost. It is a satisfaction guaranteed for all the services.70
REASONS TO CHOOSE MALAYSIA AS HEALTHCARE DESTINATION MEDICAL TOURISMMalaysia has been one of the most viable options for those seeking health care inrecent years. Based on quality and a ordability of medical care as well asreceptiveness to foreign investment, Malaysia is ranked third behind Panama whichmanaged to clinch the top spot and Brazil at number 2. Over the years, the number offoreigners seeking healthcare services in Malaysia has grown from 75,210 patients in2001 to 296,687 in 2006. In 2006 alone, RM203.66 million in revenue was generated. The technology of medical care in Malaysia has improved drastically over the years with up to date equipment on par with developed countries such as United States of America and United Kingdom. The standard of quality and services by those in the industry also has been improved to meet the standards of international health care. Doctors in Malaysia are well trained with a huge number of them being trained in renowned institutions overseas.Due to the intense competition between health careinstitutions prices have been very a ordable. In fact, theoverall rates are very much cheaper as comparedto other countries. Regardless, Malaysia is still ableto provide good quality service equally as well asdeveloped countries. Besides that, the varieties ofpackages are also there to give value added serviceto patients seeking to kill two birds with one stone. One main key point as to why Malaysia will always remain a favourite is also because of our multi cultural society. MalaysiaisgenerallyaMuslimcountry. Therefore, halalfood and services are widely available throughout the country, thus allowing Muslim patients to travel here with ease.Furthermore, in Malaysia, unlike most countries in the region, hospitals and health careinstitutions here are mostly privatised. This in turn, gives an upper hand as compared toother countries. The quality and standards of services here are quality assured and premiumwithout waiting lists. 71
