TRANSPORTATION Ways To Get Around Klang Valley New Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE) The Klang Valley Expressway is a limited-access highway that runs completely across Selangor and Kuala Lumpur in Peninsular Malaysia. The highway runs from the Bukit Raja town in Klang to Jalan Duta in Kuala Lumpur. One of the most extensively used expressways in the Klang Valley region is the 35-kilometer 22-mile expressway. The primary destinations are Setia Alam, Shah Alam, Subang, Damansara, Subang Jaya, Kota Damansara and Bukit Lanjan. Damansara - Puchong Expressway (LDP) The Damansara-Puchong Expressway, also known as the Lebuhraya Damansara-Puchong, or LDP, is a significant expressway in Klang Valley that connects important townships in Damansara and Puchong and reduces travel time between them. The 40-kilometer highway connects to other expressways in the Klang Valley, including the Federal Highway, the Puchong-Sungai Besi Highway, the New Pantai Expressway (NPE), the Sprint Expressway, the Sungai Buloh Highway, and the Kuala Lumpur Middle Ring Road 2. Shah Alam Highway (LKSA) The Kemuning-Shah Alam Highway, or Lebuhraya Kemuning- Shah Alam, LKSA, is a Klang Valley highway that extends from the Shah Alam Expressway’s Kemuning Interchange at Kota Kemuning here to Federal Highway Route 2 Interchange also known as Bulatan Darul Ehsan Interchange near Shah Alam. The Kemuning Interchange and its interchange with the Persiaran Kota Kemuning and Shah Alam Expressway E5 are where the expressway starts. The highway then travels via the Jalan Bukit Kemuning Interchange, a toll plaza near Taman Sri Muda, and the Alam Impian Interchange. To reach Section 24, the expressway crosses the Klang River bridge. South Klang Valley Expressway (SKVE) The Kemuning Interchange and its interchange with the Persiaran Kota Kemuning and Shah Alam Expressway E5 are where the expressway starts.The highway then travels via the Jalan Bukit Kemuning Interchange, a toll plaza near Taman Sri Muda, and the Alam Impian Interchange. North South Expressway Central Link (ELITE) TRANSPORTATION The North–South Expressway Central Link E6, popularly known as ELITE, is a Malaysian controlled-access expressway that runs between Shah Alam in Selangor and Nilai in Negeri Sembilan. It is 63 kilometres (39 miles) long. The expressway provides access to Putrajaya and the Kuala Lumpur International Airport. The primary destinations are Shah Alam, Batu Tiga, UEP Subang Jaya, Putra Heights, Puchong, Bandar Saujana Putra, Cyberjaya, Putrajaya, Kuala Lumpur International Airport, Dengkil and Nilai. Federal Highway The Federal Highway connects Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia’s capital, to Klang, Selangor. From Seputeh in Kuala Lumpur, the highway leads to Klang in Selangor. During rush hour from or to Kuala Lumpur, it is the busiest route in Klang Valley. Federal Route 2 is the name of the highway. The primary destinations are Port Klang, I-City, Padang Jawa, Shah Alam, Batu Tiga, Subang Jaya, Petaling Jaya and Kuala Lumpur. Kajang Dispersal Link Expressway The Kajang Dispersal Link Expressway, commonly known as Kajang SILK Highway E18, is an expressway in Kajang, Selangor, Malaysia, developed to disperse and manage traffic flow. The 37-kilometer (23-mile) road would allow traffic to avoid Kajang’s town centre. It may also be used as Kajang’s major ring road. The primary locations are Balakong, Bandar Sungai Long, Kajang, Semenyih, Bandar Baru Bangi and Putrajaya. Guthrie Corridor Expressway The Guthrie Corridor Expressway (GCE) is a Klang Valley expressway that runs from Shah Alam to Rawang. It connects the Kuala Lumpur Outer Ring Road to the west, completing State Road B9 (Jalan Batu Tiga – Sungai Buloh) and Federal Road FT54 (Jalan Kuala Selangor – Sungai Buloh) on the North-South Expressway (PLUS). The primary destinations are Shah Alam, Klang, Rawang, Kuang, Lagong, Paya Jaras, Sungai Buloh, Subang and Bukit Jelutong. 7

TRANSPORTATION Cheras - Kajang Expressway The Cheras - Kajang Expressway also known as Grand Saga Expressway is an 11.5-kilometer controlled- access expressway in Peninsular Malaysia’s Klang Valley. It runs between the Kuala Lumpur to Selangor border suburb of Cheras and the town of Kajang. The toll rate is free for motorcycles and bicycles. The fare starts from 70 cents to RM2.60 depending on the types of vehicles. The primary destinations are Kuala Lumpur, Petaling Jaya, Cheras, Kajang, Semenyih, and Seremban. Sungai Buloh Highway Sungai Buloh Highway or Jalan Sungai Buloh, Federal Route 54, is a major highway in Klang Valley region, Selangor state, Malaysia. The highway interchange to Sungai Buloh town centre, Paya Jaras, Ijok, Bestari Jaya, Kuala Selangor as well as Guthrie Corridor Expressway, Rawang and Shah Alam . The primary destinations are Kuala Selangor, Paya Jaras, Sungai Buloh, Damansara Damai, Bandar Sri Damansara, Segambut , Jalan Kuching, Kepong and Petaling Jaya. East - West Link Expressway From Seputeh to Taman Connaught in Cheras, the East–West Link Expressway, or Salak Expressway E37 is an expansion of Malaysia’s Federal Highway. The Kuala Lumpur Southeast Dispersal Link Scheme includes this highway. The primary destinations are Cheras, Bandar Tun Razak and Taman Desa. KLIA Expressway KLIA Expressway, E6 and Federal Route 26, is an expressway in Sepang, Selangor, Malaysia. It serves as the main access road to Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), as well as the nearby Sepang International Circuit and Bandar Enstek. The primary destinations are Banting, Nilai, KLIA and Sepang. . 8

Population & Area KLANG VALLEY AT A GLANCE The Klang Valley is one of Malaysia’s most developed areas. The Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur, Gombak, Petaling, Klang, and Hulu Langat are the five areas that make up this region. The Klang Valley is located roughly in the middle of Peninsular Malaysia’s West Coast and covers an area of approximately 2,832 square kilometres. In 2018, the population of the Klang Valley reached roughly 8 million people. Sepang has a population of 212,050 people. Shah Alam has a population of 481,654, Klang has a population of 879,867, Kampung Baru Subang has a population of 833,571, Subang Jaya has a population of 708,296, and Petaling Jaya has a population of 520, 698. The two federal territories in the west mentioned before are enclaves within Selangor. Cronin’s novel of the same name, Hatter’s Castle is a four-storey cottage bungalow built during the early 1920s British colonisation period. The design is believed to be influenced by the founder of Carey Island, Edward Valentine John Carey. It is currently maintained by Golden Hope Plantation as the farm owner, and used mainly as a staff and company guest house for Sime Darby Plantation. Apart from a monument of a shuttlecock and two intersecting badminton rackets, there is a mural depicting the siblings here. Constructed by tin mining tycoon Tan Boo Chia, this 51-room structure was built in 1918. It once housed the administrative headquarters of Malaya, which was then conquered by the Japanese during WWII. Visitors may currently only observe and photograph it from the outside. Mah Meri Cultural Village SIGHTS & ATTRACTIONS The Mah Meri tribe constitute one of the 18 remaining indigenous communities in Peninsular Malaysia. Retaining the animism practice, their most popular celebrations include Hari Moyang (Ancestor’s Day) and traditional wedding ceremonies. The tribespeople are skilled mask makers and palm weavers, creating the sought after authentic handicrafts that bear the UNESCO Seal of Excellence and certificate of authenticity. The double-storey palace with 44 rooms and a forbidden garden has been injected with a blend of Asian and colonial influences.
