Changes to the company's name necessitate changes to the company's Memorandum of Association and Articles of Association. Sections 13 and 14 of the Companies Act 2013 govern the procedure of amending the Memorandum of Association and the Articles of Association, and they apply to all companies.
Change of name is dealt with in Section 13 of the Companies Act, 2013, which states that the company's name can be changed by a special resolution and with the agreement of the Central Government. If the change involves the addition or removal of the words "Private" from the name, Central Government approval is not required.
