To follow patience they should learn how to control their emotions and actions even when they are anxious, eager or tired. A spe- cial assembly was conducted by KG 2 B on Patience. they performed a skit on patience and also enter- tained their friends with a dance performance on patience to reinforce the concept. Students share their understanding of patience. 1

Everyone participated in the fire drill to ensure the safety of the students and the staff members. 2

Fidgety Path- The path instructs students to hop, squat, do pushups and crawl. Doing exercises like this every day increases physical competence, which boosts confidence, making students more likely to move and be active. Helps to focus Physical fitness 5

Star of the week Reach for the stars. The Star of the Week program was established with the purpose of celebrating students achievements as well as recognizing students who models superior character and moral values. Students received Star of the week for their active participation and excellent progress in all areas of learning. 6

Class Mascot Class mascot is awarded for the student to motivate and appreciate their specialty/good habits identified in them. Taking the class mascot home is the big deal for the student. It is an exciting moment for a child to take the mascot to home as it will create a bonding in between the class and home. By this the student will be encouraged to follow the good habits with the class mates. 8

Grand Parents Day Grandparents are the family’s greatest treasure, the founders of a loving legacy, the greatest story tellers and the keepers of traditions. Grandparents are the family’s strong foundation. Through their special love and care, grandparents keep the family close at heart. To honour them Dunes International school celebrated grandparents Day on 8th September 2019. 10

Onam celebration Onam is the biggest and the most important festival of the state of Kerala, and is its na- tional festival since 1961. It is a harvest festival and is celebrated with joy and enthusiasm all over the state by people of all communities. To honour this festival Dunes International School celebrated Onam on 11th September 2019. Have a glimpse… 11

English Beginning blends When students learn that they can combine sounds, they are able to read much more quickly! Being familiar with as many blends as possible; this helps them to decode a word with more efficiency and makes reading a lot faster. Our Kindergarteners learned how to quickly blend sounds together and how to connect words with the same sounds. When students can participate in repeated practice of this skill, the blending of consonant sounds becomes more automatic and they will follow it in their every day life. This is an important introductory lesson that really helps students how to work with initial blends. Activity Students are given some flash cards and instructed to sort out them according to the different sounds of blends. As our Kindergarteners are familiar with the sounds they are able complete the activity. 12

English Blending Games: Students can blend sounds easily and able to use this knowledge when reading and spelling. 13

Mathematics Comparison of Numbers Learning numbers is fun. Students begin learning numbers from everyday experienc- es. Recognition of numbers supports the development of number skills, such as counting, comparing etc., As students are aware of counting the numbers now they are stepped in to the next level, that is comparing the numbers. Here students know about the different symbols that are used to com- pare the numbers and able to understand the concept of greater than, less than and equal to. Activity Students are provided an alligator mask and they are asked to compare the given numbers by using that mask as a role play. They are also provided with pom-poms and popsicles to compare the num- bers. It created lots of fun among the students and also they enjoyed the activity. 14

Science Transport Transportation is an important part of our everyday life. Basically children are interested in learning about transport. This teaches the students about the different modes of transport, vehicles we use and how they work. Along with these they also learn about the safety rules at road .Through junk modeling students develop their creativity by building the vehicles Activity Our kindergarteners created a rocket, out of papers which represents air transport, car and bus out of tissue paper rolls for land transport and boat out of papers for water transport. They also explained the uses of those vehicles. 16

Arabic Learning a foreign language as a child will be useful to develop a cross-cultural friendships, ex- citing travel adventures and deeper insights into how others see the world. Our tiny tots of Dunes are taught Arabic as they like the most and it became their favourite language. They learn the Arabic alphabets easily through videos, creating the letters with clay and so on. 18

Library Library is the most important place in a school where students can gain knowledge and skills for learning. Our junior library provides an opportunity for the students to read different types of books and plays an important role in developing their reading skills. 19

Physical Education School plays an important role in creating an opportunity for young dunites to be active every day through physical education. Our kindergarteners gets good physical fitness by participating in vari- ous motor development games and also they learn the importance of exercise as a life long habit. 20

Swimming Swimming is the only activity that is important for all the age group of people. We learn swimming to completely save our own. Dunes School have an opportunity to ensure that the future generation is taught basic water safety skills. Teaching children to swim also makes them learn about water safety, to assess safe and dangerous situations and how to react in emergencies. Year of Tolerance Councilor’s Desk Never underestimate the power of outdoor play. Running on the grass, climbing trees, sitting on a swing, and digging in the dirt is good for kids. Outdoor play can also improve social skills in children. Children who increased their time playing out- side increased their em- pathy, engagement, and self-control. Kids with better social skills are likely to enjoy healthier relationships. Make outdoor play a daily habit.
