athletic director ///// From our Athletic Director Tracy Howard On behalf of our wonderful faculty, staff, and students of Southwest Christian School, Athletic Director/Head Baseball Coach welcome to our beautiful campus, and thank you for supporting our student athletes by attending tonight’s contest! We’re also grateful to the many SCS boosters, parents, and fans for your continued support of Eagle Athletics. It is through your commitment that we are able to continue and successfully equip our programs to reach their highest potential. Physical Education and athletics are integral to our work at SCS shaping Christian leaders. We believe efforts on the field, court, or course are truly extensions of our classrooms. Student athletes are able to discover, expand, and refine their God-given abilities while learning through both victory and defeat, lessons they can carry with them far beyond the field of competition. We know through scripture that the Lord continually encourages us to work with our best effort and to reach our full potential for His glory, and athletic competition certainly offers us that opportunity. The coaches and athletes engaged in the contest tonight have worked tirelessly to not only be competitive, but to strive for excellence while being mindful of the fact that we are all a part of something much larger than ourselves. So enjoy the game, be proud, cheer loud, and as always, it’s a great day to be an Eagle! Tracy Howard Athletic Director covid-19 fan protocol You are attesting by your attendance that you have self-screened and are not showing any symptoms of illness. Please be mindful of those around you and maintain a safe physical distance from other groups throughout the event. To assist with this, we have allotted two unseated rows between each general admission row. Please abide by this seating arrangement, sitting only in the section that is on your ticket and maintaining at least six feet of distance between other families on the same row. We also ask that in keeping with the alignment of the GA-29 Executive Order, all fans wear a face covering at all times unless you are actively eating and/or drinking. Grateful for your support of all the participants in tonight’s contest, we pray that you will diligently follow these protocols. In an abundance of caution and concern for the safety of all involved, we reserve the right to stop the contest to enforce these expectations and to remove from the premises anyone who refuses to comply. Thank you for partnering with us as we strive to keep our vulnerable populations safe (Matthew 25:40). 2

boys basketball PREVIEW & SCHEDULE Thoughts from the Head Coach 2020-21 EAGLE BASKETBALL SEASON PREVIEW As a staff, we are excited about this basketball season. We are anxious to share our vision and passion for the student-athletes that we serve. We believe that the glue that makes our program strong and special is love. Our philosophy/team motto is “Take the Stairs”. Take the Stairs means that we will not take a shortcut on the court, in the classroom, or in life. We will commit to be disciplined in the little things that lead to success in all areas of our lives. It’s our desire to take the road less traveled by doing the extra work, and thus honoring God through our discipline (1 Cor. 9:27). To achieve this discipline, we preach and demonstrate love on a daily basis. We want them to know beyond a shadow of doubt that they can count on us. The power of love is contagious and lasts a lifetime. As a program, our ultimate desire is to achieve the mission of SCS athletics; to capture the hearts and minds of our student-athletes through the platform of sports, so that they may realize their full potential through Jesus Christ. Winning is important, because our belief that the eternal lessons we teach stick harder and last longer when attached to winning. Please join us this season as we journey into the blessings that God has for this group of young men. We believe and anticipate great things for this program and this season as we “Take the Stairs”. We look forward to serving our student-athletes and school!! -Coach Fred Jones 11/10/2020 7:30 PM Heritage Christian Academy Scrimmage Away 11/16/2020 6:00 PM DasCHE Home 11/17/2020 7:30 PM TACA Home 11/19/2020 5:30 PM Calvary Christian Academy Away 11/23-11/24/2020 TBA Grace Prep Academy Showcase Away 11/28/2020 1:00 PM Benbrook Middle/High School Away 12/1/2020 7:30 PM Lipan High School Home 12/3/2020 8:00 PM DasCHE Spartans Away 12/7/2020 5:00 PM North Texas United Away 12/8/2020 7:30 PM PT Warriors Home 12/18/2020 6:00 PM Nolan Catholic High School Away schedule 12/21-12/22/2020 TBA Lake Country Christian School Tournament Away 12/31/2020 1:00 PM Pantego Christian Academy Away 1/5/2021 7:30 PM Trinity Christian Academy - Willow Park Home 1/8/2021 7:30 PM Coram Deo Academy - Flower Mound Home 1/12/2021 7:30 PM Fort Worth Christian School Away 1/15/2021 7:30 PM Faith Christian School - Grapevine Home 1/19/2021 7:30 PM Prince of Peace Christian School Home 1/22/2021 7:30 PM Legacy Christian Academy - Frisco Away 1/26/2021 7:30 PM Coram Deo Academy Away 1/29/2021 7:30 PM Fort Worth Christian School Home 2/2/2021 7:30 PM Grapevine Faith Christian School Away 2/5/2021 7:30 PM Prince of Peace Christian School Away *2/12/2021 7:30 PM Legacy Christian Academy - Frisco Home * Senior Night 4
