Join the Rabbi’s Circle • Dear Friends, Thank you for your generosity and trust in Keneseth Israel over the years! You are making a difference by sustaining our synagogue and strengthening our future at a critical time. As the world around us changes daily, KI remains rooted in the best of Judaism: tradition, community, social justice, and support for our beloved Israel. We warmly invite you to continue your membership at Keneseth Israel as a bright future awaits and an exciting year is being planned. Our theme this year will be “Building for Tomorrow Together.” Since KI’s inception in 1847, our congregation has been at the forefront of Reform Judaism in the United States. For generations, families have come to KI in search of connection, fulfilling spiritual needs, support in times of loss, and the opportunity to experience meaning amid the stresses of day-to-day life. While its history is remarkable, KI’s future shines just as bright. KI has a lot to look forward to as we safely re-open our doors following the devastating start of the COVID pandemic over two years ago. Due to the hard work and dedication of our professional staff and lay leadership, our Preschool and youth education programs are strong again, as are our Music & Arts programs, our Adult Education program, HaMotzi Dinners, Shabbat Services, Torah Study, and all facets of our congregational community. This year, we each begin a new tenure, one as Rabbi and one as President. We anticipate building on the legacy of KI’s long list of inspirational rabbis and presidents, especially retiring Rabbi Lance J. Sussman, Ph.D. and Immediate Past President Janice Schwartz-Donahue. We appreciate your demonstration of faith in KI’s future with your continuing membership and generosity. Benjamin P. David Andrew Altman Senior Rabbi KI President
