Fourth Sunday of Lent Order of Service Praise & Worship Call to Worship One: Lent is a season for seeking -- All: In worship, we turn away from the cares of the world and fix our eyes on Jesus. One: Lent is a season for repentance -- All: In worship, we turn our hearts to you God; thank you for your saving grace! One: Lent is a season of preparation for restoration -- All: In worship, we are being prepared for the good works for which God created us. One: Bless us to hear your voice during this sacred season. All: Come, let us worship! First Report Prayer

Offertory Prayer Giving God, During this Lenten season, we are reminded that you gave us the most precious and powerful gift ever. So, we give our offerings in gratitude – rejoicing in the abundance of your gifts to us. We give these offerings in faith – trusting that you will provide for our needs. We give these offerings in hope – knowing you can use them to spread your love in this world. And with these offerings, we give ourselves – may we live with generous hearts and with open hands this season and always. Amen. The Spoken Word \"No Ordinary Day\" Matthew 21:6011 Matthew 26:17-20 Rev. Eleanor Colvin The Invitation to Christian Discipleship “Go forth empowered by Christ’s light to serve like Christ.”

Sermon Notes Key Scriptures: Matt 21:8-9 A very large crowd spread their cloaks on the road, while others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road. The crowds that went ahead of him and those that followed shouted, “Hosanna to the Son of David!” “Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!” “Hosanna in the highest heaven!” Matt 26:17-18 On the first day of the Festival of Unleavened Bread, the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Where do you want us to make preparations for you to eat the Passover?” He replied, “Go into the city to a certain man and tell him, ‘The Teacher says: My appointed time is near. I am going to celebrate the Passover with my disciples at your house.’” Matt 26:21 And while they were eating, he said, “Truly I tell you, one of you will betray me.” Matt 26:26-28 While they were eating, Jesus took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take and eat; this is my body.” Then he took a cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.
