While working at Mead, Russell and Susan started their family whilst he pursued his master's degree. Jessica was born in '85 and Andy in '88. Jessica remembers on take- PAYNEyour-daughter-to-work days while at Payne Elementary that Russ was almost always walking the building; he’d introduce her to other kids, teachers, or staff and it seemed like he knew every person’s name. In 2011 Andy deployed to Afghanistan and got out of the Army in 2012. Russell's second grandbaby Kinley was born in 2013. His dad loved to have a lap full of kids. She is well- loved at the office and at schools when she visits. Russell's family treated him to a sloth encounter for his birthday in 2021.
