Remembering Beth Knighton 1921 – 2015 wife of map international founder ray knighton Elizabeth Reed Knighton, the dear wife of MAP International founder Ray Knighton, passed away at her home in Plano, Texas in September. Ray and Beth began Medical Assistance Programs (MAP) in 1954, when they received a donation of 11 tons of medicines from an executive of a pharmaceutical company who had heard that Ray knew every medical missionary in the world. It took three months to distribute all those medicines and from that MAP International was born. The Knightons worked together for many years to make MAP what it is today. Beth played key roles at MAP during those years, from head of personnel to Executive Vice President. Beth has been very special to the MAP family, staying active even after Ray’s passing in 2003. We celebrate her life, and give thanks for the blessing she has been to us and to so many around the world. 4700 Glynco Parkway | Brunswick, Georgia 31525 www.map.org MAP0317NL14
