December 2021 National Neonatal Research Database (NNRD) Newsletter View a map of UK Neonatal Collaborative neonatal units, children's hospitals with a neonatal surgical unit, and hospices Catherine Nash joins the NNRD Steering board We are delighted to welcome Catherine Nash who has joined the NNRD steering board as nurse representative. Catherine is a Quality Improvement Lead Nurse within the North West Neonatal Operational Delivery Network. An integral part of her role is to work closely with the ODN Data Analyst to provide units and the network with meaningful outputs to help improve outcomes and quality of care. She also works closely with the NW Maternity and Neonatal Safety Improvement Programmes and is a member of the Neonatal Nursing Association. New planned “National Mother and Baby Hub” National Health Data Research UK Hubs are centres of excellence with expertise, tools, and knowledge to maximise the utility of health data. We are pleased to announce that supported by Health Data Research UK, work is underway to develop a new national Mother and Baby Hub. This will cover data related to pre-conception, pregnancy, post-partum, lactation, and neonatal periods, and will include the National Neonatal Research Database. The infrastructure will support diverse research needs by providing quality-assured, curated, research-ready real-world data. NNRD receives award from Health Data Research UK The Health Data Research UK innovation gateway helps users discover datasets and request access using a streamlined, national approach. We are delighted to announce that our team has received an award to integrate, test and evaluate current Gateway services for NNRD users.

A new data enrichment portal for clinical studies The Imperial College London Clinical Trials Unit has developed a new portal to support ancillary data capture for real-world clinical studies.
