February 2018 Brookfield country clubDlike to begin by saying I am honored toear Members, Letter from the GMAs I write this first newsletter, I wouldhave been selected as the General Manager of Brookfield Country Club. I promise I will give you my best, be honest, and work to get to know each and every one of the great members of Brookfield Country Club.I began full time on January 2, 2018 and I believe we are out to a great start. A few items that we have accomplished sofar include undertaking a full member comparative analysis of Brookfield and other clubs in the area, and withparticipation of the Membership Committee and Board of Directors, have developed and introduced our new directionto grow our membership. We have already enrolled 5 new members!Chef Dan has introduced his new menu with the participation of the House Committee. We will rotate our menus 3times a year, and will feature 4 weekly specials as well. We had our member appreciation and new member prospectevent, that featured samplings of our new menu. As a result, 150 members had a great time! We have scheduled a secondmembership appreciation event for March 22nd featuring an Italian theme night, music, and great member comradery (seeenclosed details). We have re-committed our club to growing our weddings, catering events, Bat and Bar Mitzvahs, andoutside tournaments. We have made a few staffing changes, and I would like to introduce two new key staff members:Lisa Alessi, Director of Catering and Sales. Lisa’s role will be to build our wedding, Bar and Bat Mitzvahs, large eventbusiness, outside tournaments, and member events. Edward will focus on member experience, and quality of service in all our food and beverage outlets. Edward beganhis career as a chef with Oliver’s, Hutch’s, and was the Executive Chef at Brierwood Country Club. In addition, he servedas Food & Beverage Director, then moved to Food and Beverage Director at Lancaster Country Club. Edward workedwith the Chophouse, and was part of the Curtiss Hotel opening. Finally, he returned back to Lancaster Country Club andnow has joined us at Brookfield Country Club. I have also had the privilege of working with Edward over a 12-15 yearspan, and I’m sure you will find him to be very friendly, knowledgeable, and an outstanding individual,Our immediate plan: -We will re-build our membership. -Provide the best possible member experience for you-our members. -We will maximize our revenue segments in outside tournaments, weddings, Bar and Bat mitzvahs, and large catering events. -We will build fun and successful member events -We will focus on quality and service across the entire club -We will manage with efficient and best club cultural practices to gain the most responsible outcome day-to-day in the financial performance. -We will ask all the great members of Brookfield to be a partner in our success by being great ambassadors and promoting your club.Along the way, we will make mistakes, but we will acknowledge them, apologize, and work on improving them.Thank you for all your support, kind words, and a very warm welcome in my first 30 days!Mark A. I’m excited to introduce the Junior Golf Options that are available to the Children and Grandchildren of Brookfield Country Club members. We realize the summer season is full of demands on everyone’s schedule and with that in mind we havedesigned offerings that should allow everyone to find just the right fit. Please read the enclosed flyers and theinformation below to learn about our new programs.PGA Junior LeagueSweeping the country in growth and popularity, PGA Junior League is an opportunity for children ages 8through 13 to participate in a non-competitive team atmosphere while playing in a 2 person-scrambleformat. Players will wear bright colored, numbered team jersey’s, and competeagainst local clubs in our division under the supervision of Tony Saccomanno,PGA Assistant Professional. PGA Junior League welcomes parent spectatorsand is perfect for children who want to have fun on the golf course in a teamatmosphere, without the pressure of individual play.Saturday & Sunday afternoons will be our primary play dates and matches willbegin in mid to late May and conclude in early July. Team members will alsohave scheduled supervised practices to prepare players for on course play.Team rosters are limited to 16 players and will fill up quickly, so anyone interested should contact Tony orChip at the email addresses listed below.Tony Saccomanno – [email protected] Clover - [email protected] Country Club Junior Academy powered by Operation 36Our Professional Staff is pleased to introduce Brookfield’s brand-new academy for the 2018 Golf Season.Powered by Operation 36, we are very excited to bring a new style of learning to Brookfield under thedirection of PGA Assistant Professional, Tommy Walter.Children ages 7-16 will have a combination of Match Days (play days), Academies (clinics) and open supervised practice sessions under the guidance of the Professional Staff. The new Jr Academy offers programs for children ages 5 & 6 called the Future 36ers and then a program for all children ages 7 to 16. The concept of our new learning is to teach our children from the green out. In other words, our youngestchildren will begin play at 25 yards out from the green. When a child can score 36 or better for 9 holes of playfrom that distance, they will graduate to 50 yards. This will be the natural progression moving all the wayback to 200 yards. We are excited about teaming up with Operation 36 to provide our children with amore interactive learning experience, including an Operation 36 app that will allow ourchildren to chart their progress through the course of the season. We have created two levels to choose from and hope that one of these programs fits into your summer plans.Come join the fun and be a part of our new Brookfield Junior Academy powered by Operation 36. 10
