Trends The theory of a Scientific Wedding The song - party after party was not inspired by Big Trill>s creativity but rather the Ugandan Life style. Ugandans are typical party animals, that is why there is always a green, yellow, white and purple party for every single achievement - from getting pregnant, giving birth, birth day, the first tooth mention it and there is some sort of event for it. The most celebrated is the wedding which has a long list sub components before it gets to be realised. Partying starts right from proposal, then thanks to our own Guttujja singer Mukyala Ssebunya Rema Namakula for inventing kukyaala (visit) shower after which will be the kukyaala, then the introduction before the actual weddings. Need I mention that before all this, comes a series of meetings which are charactorised by gatherings that somewhat also come off as parties of sorts. Let us agree that it was enjoyment after enjoyment till march 23 when our very beloved President Sevo gave the speech that saw the birth of what he called «scientific wedding» to mitigate the spread of Corona Virus. The biological eco friendly wedding was supposed to be attended by 10 principal participants - The bride and groom, best man, maid of honor, two relatives from each side plus two clerics max with permision from the RDC. An exemplary leader, The president even held one of these in State house for his cousin Phiona Akoragye and her husband Herbert Kihanda. Clearly many dreams were shattered for Ugandans who are used to the prestigious larvish large numbered events. We considered small weddings to be for Eurpeans and Americans, well, now it is the new normal even after lifting the lock down. However the closure of one door normally opens a window for innovators because the budgets that were invested the big wedding events are now facilitating the birth of a new era of destination weddings.

The dusk of the Destination Wedding Era One would think destination weddings took a huge hit because it's a combination of travel and parties, and that combo is the worst possible for COVID but this was only true a year ago. Greg and Maya had their budgets right for a typical Ugandan event which was scheduled for mid 2021, As usual, Ugandans expect numbers on such events because for some reasons the numbers drive the fun in these events coupled with the fact the country is dominated by extended family settings. As preparations went on, a second lock down was imposed on the country that restricted inter district travels. Fortunately, the couple had already held a few meetings with almost 90% of the budget covered and so the only debate was on whether to postpone or proceed with the event. The only one thing the couple agreed about was that they both want the day to be memorable for both of them. With the willingness to make this happen, every one researched on how to proceed till like usual, google saved the day.

Trends Greg stumbled upon an article on the thepearlguide.co.ug and that was the birth of a new idea that saw the couple agree on something eventually - a destination wedding. The website had all these destinations for weddings that seem to be off the grid but seemed interesting for the couple. One of these destination picked their interest and they got their wedding bell ringing again. Long story short, they are living happily ever after and when you visit their home , you are welcomed by the beautiful photography of their lovely wedding that was held at the awesome Chobe safari lodge, a five star lodge in Muchison falls National Park - a dream came true obviously. Unfortunately , the couple had to cut on the numbers on their guest list to fit into their budget and the only hustle the couple was left with was who makes it to this list. Gone are the days when these destination sites were perceived for foreigners because COVID has exposed an era of local tours and travel and what better way to execute one than through a memorable destination wedding like that of Greg and Maya. What to expect Destination weddings are more intimate than traditional and that is why you might want to plan some activities to keep your guests entertained depending on the destination. Ugandas rich destinations will give you all sorts of ideas on how to have your masterpiece wedding. Lets reflect Uganda to you, sure your brain will boil with all sorts of ideas to have your day. Uganda’s biggest national park-Muchison hosts lots of animals including; lions, elephants, leopards, buffaloes, giraffes, chimps, antelopes, crocodiles, hippos, etc. The Sipi Falls are one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Uganda located in the foothills of Mt. Elgon and offer a wonderful hiking experience. Chimp trekking in Kibale National Park the home of Uganda’s biggest population of chimps, looking for relaxation , the Ssesse Islands are by far the best destination to think of. Boat trips to the source of the Nile, rafting, tubing, and kayaking, quad biking and horse riding along the banks of the Nile, retreat at Samuka Island. I am already imagining the kind of pictures i can take for my destination wedding.

Sweet tooth centre piece Position your cake on display in the centre of the reception space. All guests will see the cake and they can more easily watch as it gets cut. This usually places it near the head table, too, which means you can adore your cake more easily as well! You can highlight the cake by placing a backdrop behind it, light it, or have it alongside other tables such as the gift or food tables. This means it has to look the artpiece it is.

Cakes must suite the bride and grooms personality, add craft to all your treats. Anything to retain attention of the guests and most importantly the bride. Cakes are a trendy treat in the wedding scene and because they are always a centre piece, you have got to get them right, otherwise a beautiful event can be ruined by just the cake.

out for 2022 Trends for the new normal Wedding trends look a little different these days, as couples and suppliers continue to repond to the challenges of wedding planning around Covid-19. While we still can't say when weddings as we once knew them will resume, there’s one thing we do know for sure, 2022 weddings will be celebrations, not just of love, but of reunion and recovery.

Quality over quantity Less will be more in 2022, thanks to lockdown restrictions that come and go. This year, it’s all about the quality of an event in terms of details rather than the number of guests, so we’ll be seeing far more intimate weddings with the focus on special, touching details that mean a lot to the couple. The food is also likely to be more health conscious, a nod to staying healthy in times like these. Couples are also finding a silver lining in changing plans that brings unexpected excitement into the mix. Of course, health and safety is a major consideration in weddings these days, meaning that what the couple had originally planned may have to change to suit COVID-19 regulations. But the parties will go on, and fun is the expected experience! Stylish Brides The smaller ceremonies that have been taking place gave brides the confidence to get more creative with fashion. However, wedding dresses in 2022 will be STATEMENT MAKERS! After spending a year cooped up at home, brides everywhere will be looking to shine in their gowns. They’re choosing fun colors, bold prints, fashionable cuts, and trendy embellishments. Week day weddings At this point, venders and venues have slim availability on weekends. A weekday wedding may allow a couple to get married at their dream venue and hire their preferred vendors. Not to mention: There are often cost benefits with a weekday wedding and it’s also an opportunity to support the professionals in this industry.

Fine Decor Decor by 1609 Niche designs Good decoration contributes to the creation of serenity, beauty and comfort. That means more focus is being put on staging a magnificent experience for guests, while considering safety, sustainability and solutions to the current hurdles of wedding planning in a pandemic. In 2022, it’s all about color, nature, creativity and the continued knowledge that love truly does conquer all.

Destination At this point, the couple is not just celebrating weddings their love; they will be celebrating their health, the health of their family and friends and the Vows in milestones? Why not! With an intimate fact that the world is finally starting to open guest list, couples are thinking outside of the its doors again. After lockdown, I think couples box by marrying in non-traditional wedding will take full advantage of exotic, far-flung venues or even on the open seas. destinations for their weddings.

Virtual guests Even when couples are permitted to have the guest list size they planned for, they can now be even more inclusive and invite friends and family across the world to join in their event, no flight needed. Party after party When you get time to know each other well enough to smile at each others jokes and falls that you don’t mind what the rest of the world thinks, then your wedding day has got to be lit with dance like the Mr & Mrs Munpes because their wedding was a true definaition of happy -

Garden of Eden We both have this profond love for nature and therefore we have always had a vision of having our wedding in the wilderness. With the imagination of the garden of eden and therefore, we have always envisioned the outdoor theme for our wedding We got everything figured out between the two of us before we decided to break the news to our family and friends on exactly what we wanted for our wedding. Some of the highlights that made our day awesome included the cake which was actually made by my (Faith ) sister and like I said before, wanted the feel of the outdoor therefore butterflies is what popped in our mind and for some reason, when I talked to my sister, she easily brought this to life. Another interesting part of was my wedding gown which was also made by my other sister who was also my matron. My ask from her was to give me a rustic bohemian look,

then along the way during our thought process the cinderella story popped and so we ended up looking at an ancient british style. There was a lot on my dress that we could not get locally that we had to ship in but I can gladly say the outcome was beautiful. Did I even forget about church? Our vision for church was to have an outdoor engagement setting and for some reason God was on our side because the decor, grass flooring, the flowers all gave us the look that we had desired. Just know everything was flowers flowers flowers. However not everything was as good as it sounds we had to collect a few shortcomings that were done in our kuhingira. Not that it didn’t look good, it was beautiful. We couldn’t help to feel that there was need for more flowers and that’s why we hired the same decorator for our wedding because they knew were they went short to make better. Just know our event was all we ever wanted and thanks to the video and photography company, our memory we live on as rustic as it all went down.
