Leonardo Wilhelm DiCaprio (born November 11, 1974), an American a ctor and film producer, won an Academy Award for his role in The R evenant in 2016 and was nominated six more times for the same aw ard, and was nominated for four BAFTA Awards, one of which won f or his role in The Return in 2016. He also nominated 12 Golden Globe Awards, three of which won, the Best Dramatic Actor award for his performance in The Aviator in 20 04, and the Best Actor in a Comedy or Musical award for his perfor mance in The Wolf of Wall Street in 2013. He was awarded best dramatic actor for his performance in The Ret urn in 2015. He has also been nominated for several other awards, s uch as the Screen Actors Guild Award and the Satellite Award.



Originating .. DiCaprio was born in Los Angeles, California, the only son of his pare nts. His mother, Ermlin, a former legal secretary, born in Germany, moved her and her family from the town of Oer-Erkenschwick in the Ruhr Basin, Germany, to the United States during the 1950s. His fa ther, George DiCaprio, was a painter, producer and comic book distri butor It is of semi-Italian origin (from the Naples region) and half G erman (from Bavaria) His maternal grandfather, Wilhelm Endenbrücke n, was German, and his mother Helen Endenbrücken (1915-2008) w as a German citizen born in Russia named Jelena Samarnova. DiCaprio attended Sids Elementary School and graduated from nearby John Marshall High School. DiCaprio spent part of his life in German y with his maternal grandparents, Wilhelm and Helen, who speak flue nt German.



Career ..
