It provides a variety of drawing tools to help you create beautiful paintings. Starting Tux Paint 2 3 1 Steps to open Tux Paint are: 1. Click on the Start button. 2. Select All Programs from the menu displayed. 3. Choose the Tux Paint option. 4. Choose Tux Paint (full screen/windowed) option. Creating a New Drawing Steps to start a new drawing are: 1. Click on the New button from the toolbar. You will get several colourful canvases and ready-made pictures (starters). 1 2 2. Click on the down-arrow button to see the ready-made pictures (starters). 3. To open the required picture, double-click on it. Or select it and click on the Open button. The selected picture appears in the drawing canvas. 4. Click on the Magic button in the Tools section. 3 5. In the selector (Magic pane), find the Fill tool (by scrolling down, clicking on the down- arrow button) and click on it. 6. Select the required colour from the Colors box. 4 5 7. Save button to save Note Click on the Save You don't need to give a file name your drawing. while saving a file in Tux Paint! Using Paint (Brushes) Tool 4 3 Steps to use the Paint (Brush) tool are : 65 1. Click on the New button. 2. Now, select a canvas and click on the Open button. 3. Click on the Paint tool from the toolbar. 4. Select the required paint brush from the selector (Brush pane) 5. Select the required colour from the Colors box. 55

6. On the canvas, click and drag the mouse to draw the picture. Note We can use different brushes given the selector. All the brushes have different appearances in drawing. Click on the arrow button , which is at the bottom of the selector to find more brushes. Eraser the Drawing The Eraser tool is used to erase the mistakes 1 2 (in the drawing). 3 We can use various types of erasers given in the selector. Steps to use the Eraser tool are: 1. Click on the Eraser tool. 2. Select the required size and the type of eraser from the selector (Erasers pane). 3. On the canvas, click and drag the mouse on the part of the drawing which you want to erase. That part of the picture will be erased. Quit Click on the Quit button. OR Press the Escape key. OR Click on the Close button (located on the right side of the title bar). A confirmation dialog box will be displayed. Click on button. Note If you have not saved your file, the following message will be displayed. Click on Yes button if you want to save the file before quitting Tux Paint, else click on the No button. 56
