Erase the Drawing The Eraser tool is used to erase the mistakes (in the drawing.) We can use various types of eraser given on the selector. Steps to use the Eraser tool are: 1. 7 MS Paint: Drawing with Shapes Dear Teacher, Sure Students, In this chapter we We want to learn shall look into the more about the detailed working of Shapes tool. Shapes tool in MS Paint in detail and to format shapes. Dear children, We have already learnt about the basic features and tools of MS Paint. Earlier we had a brief introduction of Shapes tool. In this chapter, let us learn more in detail about Shapes tool. Drawing Shapes Shapes such as arrows, stars and call outs etc. can be picked up from Shapes tool. Shapes group, under Home tab, displays the set of shapes. Click on the desired shape and draw it with mouse on the canvas. 55

Shape Outline Before drawing the shape, we can decide the colour, style and thickness of the outline. To select the colour: 1. Click on Color 1 in the Colors group under Home tab. 2. In the same group, click on the desired colour. To select the outline style: 1. In Shapes group of Home tab, click on the drop- down Outline. 2. Select the desired outline style. To select the thickness: 1. In Shapes group of Home tab, click on the drop-down Size. 2. Select the desired size. Filling Colours in Shape After drawing, we can fill some colour inside the shape. To fill the colour: 1. Go to Home tab and in the Tools group, click on Fill with Color tool. 2. Click on Color 1 and select on the desired colour. 3. Click inside the shape. 56

Note To draw a shape with equal sides, press and hold Shift key and drag the mouse. Fun Activity Dear Students, this fish shown here is made of using different shapes in MS Paint. Can you draw this fish by using different shapes? Drawing Shape with Different Fill Styles A shape can be drawn with various fill styles. Before drawing the shape, do the following: 1. Click on Home tab. 2. In the Shapes group, click on desired shape. 3. Click on Fill drop-down and select the desired fill style. 4. Draw the shape on the canvas. Saving the Drawing To save the file, follow the steps given here. 1. Click on Paint Button. 2. Select Save option. 3. In the Save As dialog box, select the location to save the file. 4. Supplement-4 Google Drawing Google Drawing is an online, free drawing tool by Google. It can be used for making simple drawings, diagrams, flowcharts, mind maps etc. Users can also share their drawings online with others and collaborate to edit the drawings together. To access Google Drawing, you need to have a google ID in the form of gmail ID. Opening Google Drawing  After creating Gmail account, go to www.gmail.com and log in to your account using your username and password.  Click on the grid menu icon on the top right corner of your account window.  Click on Drive option. This will open up Google Drive window.  Click on New button > More > Google Drawing. This will open up Google Drawing interface. Lines, Shapes, Text and Images Google Drawings provides toolbar that contains buttons for: 1. Drawing Lines 5 1 23 4 2. Drawing Shapes 3. Drawing Text 4. Inserting Images. 5. Undo, Redo, Print and Paint Format 62

Adding Text Click on Text tool (Number 3 in the Toolbar shown earlier) and drag on the canvas. A textbox with a cursor will appear. Type the desired text and select it. You will notice Text formatting toolbar appears on the top. Text Formatting toolbar provides buttons for Textbox fill color, Textbox border color, border style, Font and Font size etc. You can use them to format the text. Drawing Lines and Shapes In the Main toolbar, click Line tool and select the tool to draw lines, arrows, connectors between textboxes, curves, polygons and freehand scribbles. To draw shapes, click on the Shapes button and select the desired shape to draw. Inserting Images Google Drawing allows you to insert images from your local computer, online from web, from images saved in your Google Drive, Photos collection, from any online resource like your blog or website and by capturing live image from webcam. Just click on Insert Image tool on the toolbar and select the desired option. 63
