Beach The sun shines in her face as the soft salty breeze whistles in her ears. Sitting down, shiny shoes are flung away. Bounding across the silky sand, her hair flies and her skirt flaps. The ocean waves lap at her feet. A squelch occurs as she takes a step. She smiles. Clumps of sand slide through her toes. She strides in the wet sand, listening to the satisfying squelch. Her goal is achieved.

Camp As if time froze, waves loomed above our colourful heads. “Crash!” the waves splashed down onto the screaming children. Short people like me get dragged under by the enormous waves. Salt flies through the air landing in our eyes and throats. Even though our eyes were screaming with pain, the laughter continued. My legs bend and prepare for the next wave. I jump, but the waves engulf me. A split second too late means a face full of salt water. Coughing as I resurfaced. I smile. The sun shines in the bright blue sky. The wind is gentle but the waves are freezing. Thrashing back to shore, my legs are now covered in the warm hot sand. The warmth is then into my body and I then race back into the wildness of the sea My throat throbs as the salt dances down my throat. When the double waves come crashing down, I get dragged down and get pushed back but we then march forwards to meet the new army again as we bend our legs to prepare for battle.

One life six words Reading through the ever lasting day Annoying my sister whenever school ends Hoping for a cute little pet Success comes with failure, stand again Abandoned alone with no-one I know Chasing the views around the world Working ahead means a successful life Less time same result equals concentration A busy life filled with surprises

The shells crack, revealing the yolk, Surrealism The ball of gas rises at the strike of dawn, Waking up the slumbering folk, Now midday, the yolk floats in the sky, Sunlight floods the afternoon light Hours tick by and the ball yells bye-bye, The yolk now settling back into the shells, Waiting for the crack of dawn, Until then, hiding in the house-like cells. The shell now rises in the star-filled night, Acting as the night time yolk Letting out an eerie light, Now midnight, the bats soar high, Now time stops still, at the crack of dawn, The moonlit ball lets out a wistful cry.

Mt. Kau Kau I see the bright blue sea, shimmering in the horizon, like a thousand stars. Past the mountain where I stand, past the bare trees, cliffs and the city, I watch the sea dance. Remembering the times when waves lapped at the sparkly shore, leaving many presents of multicoloured shells. I hear the birds tweeting amongst the lush bush, singing songs yet to be found, forming an orchestra with the wind and the trees, singing a melody and dancing with the sea. I imagine the presence of the hikers before, guiding us across the jagged windy path. Leading us past ditches and bumps, showing us the bunnies darting along the valleys, and revealing the tiny crystal streams that race around us.

Space Space Extended infinitely Glistening and shining Distant specks of light Nebulars towering above and around Swirling mass of the Milky Way A vortex of silence crashes over me Dazzling but vicious, hiding in each galaxy’s core A space monster lurks sucking the daylight away A group of stars twinkling far away Constellations shine brightly in the distance Planets spinning round and round Meteoroids asteroids comets galore Big and small Zoom around Space

Haunted A creak sounded, waking me up from my sleep. I glance around, heart pounding. Nothing. I close my eyes again, willing for the peacefulness of sleep. Uneasiness sweeps through my body. I fling my eyes open. Black, hollow holes meet my eyes. My moonlit room illuminates a ghostly silhouette. Instinctively I open my mouth to let out a scream, but no sound comes out. I flick on the light but the figure had disappeared. Everytime the light is on, the figure disappears. Very quickly, I give up. My phone gives a ghostly beep. I try to ignore it but curiosity urges me to check. ‘I will haunt you forever’ fills my screen.

Autumn I see the fiery orange trees, flickering like a flame in the rays of light. I watch the crispy leaves slowly float down, as they cast their worries away. I hear hooves crunching on the fallen blanket of hope. The last song of autumn and the wildlife before hibernation, all waiting for spring to come again. I remember the times when the trees were blooming, and the birdsong was loud and melodious. I remember when the land was a palace of flowers, and soft lush grass. I imagine the forest chattering with excitement, filled with life, under the windless, cloudless sky. I imagine a waterfall crashing amongst the ferns illuminating a faint rainbow, and sending out a mist that twinkles in the sky.

Web of Time Strands of memories float past me. I’m wandering through a lifetime, wandering through a maze. I look. Math equations to holiday trips, all hidden in the numbers, woven in the mind. Glancing into a “10”, Joyful laughter fills the air as I recall the fun, family time. The number fades, and I gasp, swirling around, looking for the memory. “It's gone…. No….” I whisper, as I chase after the dimming light. The orb turns to a speck and disappears. My legs stumble over the strands collapsing onto the vanblack floor. The maze darkens. I frantically swirl around, memory strands snap before my eyes as they all fade to dust. Pearly white tears flood down my face. The bright orbs of memories disappear like a kaleidoscope of stars. Vanishing like a ninja in the night.

Web of Time (continued) “My life, My hope, My family…. All gone…..” A lifetime of memories are stripped. I feel hollow, as I see what once were thousands of memories all cease to exist. I watch a memory of my 9 year old self happily dancing, then it blinks into the inky darkness…..

The End!
