BY CHOICE A CAMPAIGN FOR A BETTER WORLD. Dear Friend, I hope that you are finding ways to stay healthy and sane in this “new arrangement” we all find ourselves living in today. At times, this new norm reminds me of the expedition experience. The before and after contrast can be overwhelming yet inspires us to consider our priorities in life and ideally re-adjust. Last August we committed to launch the Connected by CHOICE Campaign, a comprehensive approach that will ensure the important work of CHOICE Humanitarian continues to serve those who need it most. This campaign is the culmination of decades of planning and building relationships with passionate individuals who care deeply about our organization. Frankly, we cannot imagine doing any of this without you! Thank you for fully embracing our project with tremendous excitement. Each visit has led to new ideas that we are building into our efforts. Some of our friends are forming teams to work as a fundraising group, and others will be hosting intimate gatherings in homes with key guests when possible again. We are grateful for your inputs that will help us achieve our goal! Moving forward we will be sending you a monthly report to keep you abreast of our progress. To date we are pleased to have accomplished the following: • Secured $1.3 million dollars in support • Completed 20 personal visits with close friends • Added 3 new friends to Estate Planning As the leading nonprofit in the Ending Extreme Poverty arena, this is our moment to rise and ensure that we stay strong so that those we serve have access to lasting solutions in the face of great challenge. Our involvement with CHOICE Humanitarian began decades ago and our children have all been impacted by the desire for humanitarian services and are now working in areas that include and practice these principals. While serving and traveling in remote villages we have seen countless lives changed and as a family have become engaged in making a difference. CHOICE has made us realize who we are and who our fellow travelers are, and as a family we are thrilled to support CHOICE Humanitarian in this campaign.

QRCEOUSIVCPIDKONSE TO In the remote village of Ramechhap, a hospital was built by the community with support from CHOICE Humanitarian to serve villagers who do not have access to healthcare. Although the hospital has not been officially inaugurated, it has been in full service ever since the outbreak of Covid-19. The local government, along with the village leaders, quickly mobilized to convert it to a quarantine center, equipping it with critical medical supplies, medicine, beds and Covid testing equipment. A doctor and two nurses have been stationed at the hospital caring for the sick. An ambulance has been secured for those needing transport. As anticipated, most of the patients are migrant workers who are coming back to their villages from India and other countries. Out of the 54 people quarantined so far, 11 tested positive for Covid-19 and have now recovered and returned home. The remaining 43 are quarantined in the hospital. The Mayor in the area said, “We are grateful this hospital was built at the right time. Without this space it would have been very difficult for us. On our part, we have been working to contain the virus and make sure that no one goes hungry as a result of the lockdown.” As of June, there have been no Covid-19 related deaths in this Municipality. LOUIS POPE. What can be better than pledging a portion of your estate to a worthwhile cause? Putting a significant portion of my assets in a Charitable Remainder Trust has many advantages. I like knowing that when I die those resources will go to the causes we love most, like CHOICE Humanitarian.
