Transforming and embarking on a digital transformation journey in the manufacturing sector should not be treated as a one-off exercise but be accepted as a continuous and iterative process. This introductory course by A*STAR Advanced Remanufacturing and Technology Centre (ARTC) is aimed at developing an understanding for a manufacturing organisation on how to use a validated structured approach via the LEAD framework to embark on a digital transformation and implementation. About this Programme The course consists of two parts: classroom training involving lectures and group discussions; and practical hand-on sessions with case studies and demonstrations held at the Model [email protected] The course aims to help participants address the following organisation’s performance gaps: • Learn the LEAD framework to “recognise” requirements to lead an organisation towards an Industry 4.0 Digital Transformation. • Help manufacturing organisations to LEARN about available best practises and EVALUATE, ARCHITECT and DELIVER plans to support their Digital Transformation journey. • Understand possibilities and options to digitalise their manufacturing operations based on demonstrators at the Model [email protected] Who Should Attend This course is targeted at organisations and/or individuals looking to have the first understanding or to develop the capability of the direct deposition method for manufacturing and/or remanufacturing applications. It is also suitable for those who are currently employed or who wish to be employed in manufacturing-related fields with the typical candidate profiles being but not limited to the following: • Process technician/engineer • Production supervisor/manager • Quality control manager/engineer

Course Outline Skills Course Reference Number: To be confirmed (16 training hours) The programme adopts the Learn-Practise-Implement™ (LPI) pedagogy. Participants will acquire knowledge through a gradual learning curve, reinforce the knowledge and skill taught by working on hands-on examples that are related to their work, and apply the knowledge acquired to solve their business problems. Introduction to the Industry 4.0 Transformation Journey using the LEAD Framework – LEARN, EVALUATE, ARCHITECT, DELIVER LEARN Key principles and concepts of learn and understand the tangible benefits and value of Industry 4.0 EVALUATE Concepts on what, who and how to evaluate and use of the Assessment Matrix ARCHITECT How to use SIRI as a checklist to ensure that all dimensions are considered and how to lay out the intermediate steps of the long-term transformation DELIVER Achieve outcomes outlined in the Architect process and how to sustain transformation initiatives. Upon Completion of this Programme Participants will be awarded with a certificate of attendance by ARTC. Course Fee and Funding • The nett course fee for all Singaporeans and SPRs aged 21 years old and above is S$300 (before GST). • Employees fully sponsored by SMEs can claim an additional 20% of the full course fee with the Enhanced Training Support for SMEs Funding scheme (ETSS), subject to approval by SSG. • Singaporeans aged 40 years and above can claim an additional 20% of the full course fee with the Mid-Career Enhanced Subsidy (MCES). • Singaporeans aged 25 years old and above are eligible for SkillsFuture Credit which can be used to offset course fees (for self-sponsored registrations only). • The full course fee before funding is S$1,000 (before GST). About the Trainers Mr Anikath Murali Das is the Senior Programme Manager of the Model [email protected] that showcases Industry 4.0 technologies via physical demonstrators in a workshop environment. He has over 30 years of industry experience in a major MNC (culminating as a Senior Director) in the computer sector and as well as strong industrial consulting experience. He has had significant working experience in multiple countries including Switzerland, Italy, India, Singapore and managing teams in China and Thailand. Dr Antonio Feraco is the Managing Consultant for Industry 4.0 (I4.0) with A*STAR ARTC. He is responsible for supporting the process manufacturing sector into adopting I4.0 technologies to enable end-to-end integration, improve HSE and optimising efficiency. With a PhD in Artificial Intelligence, a background in Industrial Engineering, Dr Feraco ran successful projects in oil and gas, mining and pharma, and has been part of several international initiatives in EU and ASEAN, as a Digitisation and Industry 4.0 expert. He previously worked as an R&D manager, strategy and management consultant and technology advisor and developed a comprehensive experience in AR, VR, AI, business process optimisation, project management in several sectors such as energy efficiency and robotics. Dr Feraco is also a Professor and Chair of Corporate Governance at the University of Vitez, Bosnia and Herzegovina , and a trainer with the National University of Singapore. He delivers training for industry and academia in both technical topics as Predictive Maintenance, and non-technical subjects like Management of Innovation Processes and Technology Transfer Strategies.
