About the Trainers Resource Scheduling For Service Industries Mr Chua Tay Jin is a Principal Research Engineer and Initiative Lead with SIMTech. Since joining SIMTech, he has led numerous industrial and research projects in the LEARN-PRACTISE-IMPLEMENT@SIMTECH areas of production planning and scheduling and conducted several Advanced Planning and Scheduling (APS) courses. He is spearheading an industry-wide effort on helping companies in the deployment of production planning, scheduling and shopfloor tracking software (Smart Manufacturing Operations Management, S-MOM) for HMLV manufacturing environment. He is also leading the effort on the mass roll-out of Manpower Scheduling System (MSS) for service industries. He has 3 USA patents and 1 Singapore patent in the area of production planning and scheduling. Mr Cai Tian Xiang is a Principle Research Engineer with SIMTech. He received his MSc in Operations Research from the Chinese Academy of Science, PRC, in 1991. Since joining SIMTech in 1998, he has been highly involved in the development and implementation of production planning and scheduling system for more than 50 industrial companies. He has also developed and implemented a demand forecasting system for more than 10 companies. Currently, he is working on the enhancement of a manpower scheduling engine to cater to various requirements from the service sector. Mr Ngoh Sisui is a Research Engineer with SIMTech. As part of the Planning and Scheduling team, he is actively involved in several collaborative industry projects that deploy Manpower Scheduling System (MSS) and Smart Manufacturing Operations Management (S-MOM) system. These systems have been in use by over 50 companies across different industry sectors. He received his B.Eng in Engineering System from the Singapore University of Technology and Design and is currently pursuing his Master Degree in Industrial Systems Engineering. Mr Clement Tan is a Research Engineer with SIMTech. He graduated from the Singapore University of Technology and Design with a B.Eng in Engineering Systems Design. At SIMTech, he helps to implement the Smart Manufacturing Operations Management (S-MOM) to improve production planning and scheduling, with a current adoption of more than 50 companies. He is also involved with the deployment of the Manpower Scheduling System (MSS) that help companies in automating their manpower scheduling practices in the service industries.
