Apply Integrated Carbon Footprint Assessment Methodology (40 hours) Skills Course Reference Number: CRS-Q-0033850-PRE Value of Quantifying and Communicating Carbon Footprint Carbon footprint is an effective Key Performance Indicator (KPI) for communicating a company’s environmental and sustainability performance. It is also an ideal tool for translating a company’s contributions and achievements of adopting green practices and technologies. Carbon footprint assessment reflects the factors impacting a company’s bottom-line, like energy consumption, materials utilisation and waste management. Increasing pressure from investors, governments, and customers is making carbon footprint assessment critical for any company pursuing sustainability. In order to meet the busy schedules of professionals, the Singapore Institute of Manufacturing Technology (SIMTech) has launched the Integrated Carbon Footprint Assessment Methodology Programme to train industry professionals to assess and communicate their organization’s carbon footprint. At the end of the course, participants will be equipped with both the methodology and hands-on experiences to assess their company’s carbon footprint in compliance with international standards, and effectively communicate their eco-performance. Upon Completion of this Course Electronic certificates (e-Certs) will be issued by SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) to participants who have attended and attained competency in the Singapore Skills Framework training modules. Training Venue: Singapore Institute of Manufacturing Technology 4 Fusionopolis Way, Kinesis, Level 6, Seminar Room 2, Singapore 138635 About the Course Leaders Dr Song Bin is a Senior Scientist from SIMTech’s Sustainability and Lifecycle Management team under the Planning and Operations Management Group. His current R&D focus is on methodologies and tools for advancing sustainability in manufacturing operations that include closed-loop manufacturing, carbon footprint management, and manufacturing energy efficiency. He has over 20 years of R&D experience in product lifecycle management and life cycle engineering. During this period, he has initiated and successfully led many research and industry funded projects, ranging from million-dollar projects by government agencies and multi-national companies (MNCs), as well as smaller projects with small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Dr Jonathan Low is a Scientist from SIMTech and specialises in the field of Life Cycle Engineering and Sustainable Manufacturing. Prior to his graduate studies, Dr Low spent his early career honing his technical skills at one of the largest multinational electronics manufacturing services (EMS) company in Singapore. Over the years, Dr Low has been involved in numerous sustainability-related R&D and consultancy projects, and has been actively publishing in the field. In the process, he has received a number of wards, such as the SIMTech Award, the A*STAR Borderless Award and MTI Borderless Award. Ms Tan Yee Shee is a Senior Research Engineer from SIMTech under the Sustainability and Lifecycle Management team. She has vast experience in sustainability assessment, particularly in life cycle assessment as well as energy analysis. She completed her Master Degree in Environmental Engineering, specializing in environmental management, from the National Cheng Kung University of Taiwan, in 2012. Her current research focuses on energy efficiency, carbon footprint assessment and sustainable manufacturing. Course Fee and Funding • The full course fee for this module is S$4,000 before SkillsFuture funding & GST. • All Singaporeans and Permanent Residents aged 21 years and above can enjoy SkillsFuture funding of up to 70% of the course fee. • Singaporean or Permanent Resident employees fully sponsored by SMEs can enjoy SkillsFuture funding support of up to 90% of the course fee under the Enhanced Training Support for Small & Medium Enterprises (SMEs) scheme, subject to eligibility criteria. • Singaporeans aged 40 years and above can enjoy SkillsFuture funding of up to 90% of the course fee under the Mid-career Enhanced Subsidy (MCES). • Singaporeans aged 35 years and above with earnings not more than S$2,000 per month can enjoy SkillsFuture funding for up to 95% of the course fee under the Workfare Training Support (WTS) scheme. • Singaporeans aged 25 years old and above are eligible for SkillsFuture Credit which can be used to offset course fees (for self-sponsored registrations only).
