The AU-EdPEx (Assumption University-Education Criteria for Performance Excellence) workshop entitled “School Self-AssessmentWorkshop” was organized by the Office of the Vice President for Policy, Planning and Quality Assurance (OPPQA) and AU Organizational Performance Excellence (AUOPEx) Committee on December 13-14, 2018, at Salle d’ Expo, Assumption University, Hua Mak Campus. The objective of this workshop is capability enhancement school self- assessment. Participants are 90 persons from all schools included Deans, Chairpersons, Program Directors, and representative of faculty members participated in the workshop where Dr. Kamol Kitsawad delivered the welcome remarks. The keynote speaker, Asst. Prof. Pol. Lt. Col. Dr. Nopdol Thongnopnua, EdPEx Sub-committee member led the workshop in collaboration with AU Organizational Performance Excellence (AUOPEx) Committee chaired by Dr. Uree Cheasakul as supportive mentors. Participants learned the fundamental of EdPEx, systematic thinking process in each EdPEx categories (Leadership, Strategy, Customers, Measurement, Analysis, and Knowledge Management, Workforce, Operations, and Results), Self-reflection and Self-assessment as well. During the workshop, Rev. Bro. Dr. Bancha Saenghiran, President-Rector Magnificus, kindly joined the workshop to encourage and give morale support to all school participants. 3 OPPQA 2018 P-61-0252
Achievement The survey results of this workshop are as follows: 1. Before the EdPEx workshop, participants had understanding about school's self-assessment report writing at 2.84 or neither satisfied nor dissatisfied level and after workshop; participants had understanding about school's self-assessment report writing at 4.00 or somewhat satisfied level 2. The participants believe that the knowledge received from the EdPEx workshop would increase their school performance in the long run at 4.10 or somewhat satisfied level. 3. The participants believe that the EdPEx will enhance their school sustainable development at 4.20 or somewhat satisfied level. 4. Participants’ satisfaction with this EdPEx workshop at 4.62 or very satisfied level 5. All school self-assessment reports Suggestion & Recommendation 1. Some case studies must be discussed as examples of success, especially for competitive curriculum development. Focus should be on Leadership and Workforce development. 2. Hiring highly qualified and talented people will change the outcome. Hiring more foreign educated faculty can add value to QA goals and aspirations of AU. Quality only comes from the “Quality of People”, and hence, everything will follow. 3. The keynote speaker was very knowledgeable on the area. Hope the university will invite him again in the future.
