Activity Description Type of activity: Independent Evaluation moment: Intermediate Unit 2 Highest score of the activity: 80 points The activity starts on: Sunday, March The activity ends on: Sunday, April 10, 20, 2022 2022 With this activity, you are expected to achieve the following learning outcomes: - read any text in which the writer adopts particular grammar structures and vocabulary through different tasks according to the CEFR level B2. - write clear, detailed texts on a wide range of subjects through different writing exercises according to the CEFR level B2. - understand the main idea(s) of general audios on concrete and abstract topics, including technical discussions through lectures and conversations featured in an upper intermediate level. The activity consists of: Step 1 - Attend the second web conference of the course. Take evidence (screenshots) of your participation to be posted in the forum (1 at the beginning, 4 in the development of the web and 1 at the end). Be sure your name appears in the screenshots. If you do not participate, watch the recording of such web conference, and write a summary to be posted in the forum. The summary should have at least 200 words. It should be professionally written, with proper punctuation, spelling, grammar, and proper citation. - Go to the Learning Environment and check the Course Contents and Bibliographic References for Unit 2: Once Upon a Time. Read about read-aloud characteristics; practice the grammar structure of Phrasal Verbs, Relative Clauses and Reported Speech. 1

Step 2 - Go to the page Masterpiece Generator and generate your own Short Story online. Use familiar vocabulary in the required spaces and be sure your spelling is correct. - Once you finish, click on the icon “Write me a short story” - At the end of your creation, there is a message about privacy reasons saying that your creation will be removed from the web at a certain time and later deleted from the server, unless you choose to publish it. Click then in “Publish” in order to generate a link. - Share such link in the forum so that others can visualize your creation. Published creations are available to anybody with the link. 2

Step 3 - Create an interactive flipbook with animated page turning effects to organize your short story with illustrations that fully develop the characters, the setting, and the plot. Use any app you want. Information about flipbooks can be found at Winstead, S. (n.d.). Share the link of your flipbook in the forum to confirm it works and get feedback. Step 4 - After having done the flipbook, you are to create a video reading aloud your short story. The reading time cannot exceed 5 minutes; a proper reading should take around 3 minutes total. The video must show the flipbook and your face while reading the short story aloud. Use screencast-o-matic to do so. The quality of the sound and the image are to be done the best possible. After having the video, you must upload it in an online space: YouTube, Tutv, Google Videos, etc. Share the link in the forum to confirm it works and to get feedback from your e-mates and tutor if necessary. Step 5 - Upload a PDF file. Identify your file as follows: 518011 - Task 4 - Your Full Name.pdf For the development of the activity consider that: In the Initial Information Environment, you must: - Check the Course Agenda to organize your time. - Check the Course News for important information. - Verify the date of the Second Web Conference so that you can plan your participation accordingly. - Verify your tutors’ synchronous attention by Skype. In the Learning Environment, you must: - Check the Course Contents and Bibliographic References for Unit 2: Once Upon a Time. - Go to the discussion forum for the task and participate. - Give feedback to your e-mates if necessary. General Guidelines for the Development of Evidence to Submit For Independent evidence, consider the following: ▪ Be sure to write proper citations and references for other sources you might use. ▪ Be sure to answer all the questions with your own words. ▪ Be sure to revise content, structure, and mechanics in everything you post in the forums and/or sent for evaluation. ▪ Before submitting the requested product, student should check that it meets all the requirements mentioned in this activity guide. Please keep in mind that all individual or collaborative written products must comply with the spelling rules and presentation conditions defined in this activity guide.
