There are many different sides of a Travel Agents work but the simplest explanation is a person who schedules vacations. They work with factors like cost, time, flights, and weather when their employer can’t.

The job requires you to sit in an office most of the time working on a computer. You usually don’t work outside and are stationed at one office. Some Travel Agents are mobile and move around to different offices. It is not for people who like to work outside and hands on.

Basic skills a Travel Agent needs is a level five reading skill, level three writing skill, level three critical thinking, and level three monitoring. Along with level five active listening skills, level five speaking, and level three active learning. Necessary skills are level two math and level two learning strategies.

The average annual wage a Travel Agent makes is $41,430 in Texas and hourly is $11.01. This of course varies to different states.
