Regenerative Futures 2050: A Planetary Symposium Report
The Regenerative Futures 2050 Symposium convened a gathering of interdisciplinary thought leaders, policymakers, foresight practitioners, artists, and activists from around the world, united by a shared commitment to envisioning and enacting regenerative futures.
The symposium’s purpose was not only to advance technical or environmental solutions but to initiate cultural, ecological, and ethical transformation.
Central to this was the prioritization of inclusion, decolonization, and narrative sovereignty, with particular emphasis on elevating perspectives from the Global South and Indigenous communities.
The symposium surfaced several dreams of a regenerative world characterized by deep relationality between humans, nature, and place; cultural continuity and ancestral wisdom as a compass for collective decision-making; democratized foresight through participatory art practices; and healing-centered communities where trauma becomes a resource for resilience.
