CANCER AWARENESS DAY \"The secret of health for both mind and body is not to mourn for the past, worry about the future, or anticipate troubles but to live in the present.\" Bhavans Al Saad Indian School, Al Ain had observed Cancer awareness day on 7 November 2020. The main objective of the programme was to create awareness among students on cancer and its ill effects. In the 20th century it wasn’t a common disease but in the present century it has become one of the most common diseases, therefore it is important to know about the causes, transmission and prevention of this disease. IsIsusuee45 As a part of this programme school had conducted an essay writing competition for the students of Grades 6 to 8 on the topic Cancer Awareness-prevention and importance of positive attitude. Many students had actively participated in the programme and submitted their essays to their science teachers. The essays written by students revealed their knowledge about the topic and it helped the students to enrich their knowledge on the topic. VVoolulummee77

Every child is a different kind of flower; together they make this world a beautiful garden. A day marking childhood. Children’s Day celebrations focus on children and their enjoyment. It is a day of celebrating childhood. The day is celebrated to pay tribute to the legendary freedom fighter and our first Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru popularly known as Cha-Cha. Bhavans’ Al Saad Indian School, Al Ain always strives to emerge out with something new for its students and children’s day being a day especially for them. As it is generally seen, students perform for teachers on various occasions, but on 14th November 2020 at Bhavans Al Saad Indian School teachers gave various performanc- es for the students in order to express their love and care for them. Various entertainment prgrammes incorporated with thoughtful information were shared through a video presentation by the teachers to mark the day memorable. The students were overwhelmed with the entire effort. They cheered their teachers as they saw them on screen, they laughed boisterously at their jokes. The online platform as well as the school was buzzing with excitement and joy. The day ended in a beautiful resonance lingering in everybody’s minds. The entire programme was applauded by everybody present and will always remain etched in the memory of one and all. Issue 5 Volume 7

Together for a better Environment Bhavans Al Saad Indian school is proud to associate with ‘ The One Root One Communi-Tree’ - one of EEG’s Emirates Environ- mental Club] major community action oriented projects that propagate community waste reduction and recycling schemes and liaise with various target groups within the community to spread environmental message and improve the community’s environmental awareness. Obviously , we could achieve its objectives in mobilizing the society in a hands-on activity to manage recyclable waste and in increasing the sustainable green patch in the UAE. Our contribution to the reduction of GHG emissions and save landfill space was 2170 Kg and we achieved the target for One Root, One Communi-Tree (Phase2) .EEG has awarded us with a certificate and a native tree sapling to plant under our school name. W orld Television Day commemorates the date on which the first World Television Forum was held in the year 1996. Television continues to be the single largest source of video consumption. Though screen sizes have changed, and people cre- ate, post, stream and consume content on different platforms, the number of households with television sets around the world continues to rise. The interaction between emerging and traditional forms of broadcast creates a great opportunity to raise awareness about the im- portant issues facing our communities and our planet. Bhavans Al Saad Indian School conducted various activities for the students in connection with the World Television Day in the month of November. Grades 1 to 2 students shared excellent videos of their short speeches on the role of the Television in their life. Booklets are different source of information on topics which can be used as a reference for the future. So, the students of Grades 3 to 5 were asked to prepare colourful and creative booklets on their favourite television shows. The students of Grades 6 to 8 were provided with the opportunity to exhibit their writing skills. The teachers encouraged and motivated the students to write an essay on the topic- ‘Has television lost its importance in the internet age’. The activities paved the way to the students to think more on the impact of television and internet in the life of people. Issue 5 Volume 7

The ability of a nation to make best use of its knowledge determine its place in the comity of nations in the present century. Lifelong learning should therefore be geared towards achieving excellence. Conference was aimed to carve niches of excellence in every school. This conference was one step forward in our relentless pursuit towards exceeding excellence.
