With about 250 members, Jordan High's f'TSA (Parent Teacher Student Association) was one of the biggest clubs this year. The student council had a hard time making f'TSA fun for individuals, but through halftime contests, club socials, the Reflection Contest, and scholar· ships for seniors, they managed nicely. President Melanie Perry said \"It's a lot of work to get that many kids together, but we had fun.\" PTSA council members were busy throughout the year during parent teacher conferences. They served dinner and drinks to the faculty. Before the state football championship game, students were invited to get their faces painted by f'TSA.PrsA s 0Dck· \"~'\"' Em!'>t. Jeremy Wick£;t.rem. Academic Decathlon ALL FOR ONE, ONE FOR ALL Take nine of the brightest students in the school. Bring them together for regular, and often late, study sessions.Introduce them to everything from Sinclair Lewis to DNA coding. Expect them to do everything well: write an essay, interpret e.e. cummings. solve calculus problems, identify a Rembrant, be familiar with biotechnology, differentiatebetween Tchaikovski and Stravinski, and give a speech. Our Academic Decathlon could do it all!. The Academic Decathlon team represented Jordan High in a tournament with other schools in the district competingIn ten different subject areas. Jordan walked away with fourteen medals. but didn't have enough points to advance toa state tournament. With an earlier edgethan the '94 t eam, t hat had no starting seniors, Jordan's soccer team was well on its way to another victorious season. In early February, Coach Bill Noble held try-outs. After school, the boys gathered on the field adjacent to Mt. JordanMiddle School and \"gave their all\" to make the team. There were both new and familiar faces, which presented Coach Noblewith the difficult t as k of smoot hly combining the diverse ta lent.
